Anyone know if its poss to install 2 versions of MS Office on a single PC? (without using different users, partitions, any of that sort of wizardry...)

Yes, its possible - seen it work with O2K7 and O2K. Can't say it will be 100% perfect no issues but it basicly works.

It used to be that installation was done in reverse order. That is install the oldest version first and the newest last with any others in between. I haven't done it recently but have had office 98, office 2K and office XP installed at the same time.

If you're talking about PCs in a corporate environment (with AD, etc) then Softgrid lets you do just this. Included in most MS volume agreements too.

I have an XP machine in VMware with various snapshots set up with different versions I'll need for testing, making it pretty easy to switch between them. Every time I've tried to do it on the same PC it's gone badly and I've never got a 100% working office install.

I often have to install Office 4.3 onto a windows XP/Office 2003 machine.
It works but I dont approve of it!
