Discussion
Sorry to be dim here, but I've heard from an American chappie who is setting up a biz and is "interested in buying a 301 (permanent) redirect from..." (a page on my website)
First I thought he just meant a link from my page to his, but I gather it's not - perhaps whenever someone googles - finds my page and clicks the link, they miss my page and go straight to his??
Is that a 301?
I would just tell him to sod off, but he's offering serious money and I can just rename the page (so it won't affect my site at all - except of course it's position on google)
Do I bite his hand off or run a mile?
Ta
Confused of Torridon.

301 is a permanent redirect (as mentioned)
basically it would point your site to his site, and let google know that this redirection was permanent (as opposed to just a tempoary link)
I assume you have a rather well rated site (one which google likes!)
Only you know if it's worth it for the money he's offering, but this will typically mean you lose your site (as they tend to want to redirect the whole domain to their own, thus improving their rankings)

Well he can't have the whole domain (I've been offered a SHED load for that and turned it down) but he seems just interested in one page. FYI -

I'll e mail back and peg him down.
