Simple question - looking for a colour laser printer for home use, which make should I be looking for and how much should I realistically be looking to spend for one that is going to be reliable ???

Cheers

The current issue (February 2008) of PC Pro magazine has a comparison of both B&W and Colour Laser printers.

Whatever you do, check the toner prices! And don't assume that the printer comes with full cartridges - they don't! Home printers usually come with about 25-33% of a full cart.

samsung clp-300n, one year no problems, comes with smaller capacity cartridges as new, but seems good

One thing to bear in mind is how much toner these things flush through at each startup, which in a domestic setting can be more than they actually use to print.

I've heard good things about the Xerox Phasers, but I've given up with colour printers at home.

I've got the Xerox Phaser 6110N (N being network version).

Lot of printer for the price, £140 from Printerbase.

Very pleased with it.
