I thought the 8800GT generally outperformed the GTS.

It will outperform the G80 GTS (the 320 & 640mb versions) but that is the newer G92, which is close to an 8800GTX in performance.
Looks like a nice set-up, but unless there are plans for extreme OCing or future upgrades, the power supply is going to be massive overkill! smile
Nice though! thumbup

Yep, bingo smile

I had a 8800 GTS (640mb) and my little sister has just upgraded to a 8800 GT 256mb - and she managed to beat my 3dmark06 score! - So I went and bought two 8800 GTX's instead wink

Oh, and no such thing as overkill on a PSU - the components only draw what they need, having a high wattage just means that nothing is going to go wanting for more juice.

Oops didnt notice it was a GTS, I have a GT but still happy with it smile

I would also stick with the PSU for when you add more stuff\upgrade it.

True, I'm not saying having too much is a bad thing, but I've run 4Gb RAM, a 6000+ (much higher draw than Q6600) 5 HD's, 2 optical drives, 8800GTX and several other bits and pieces from a 750W PSU.
Although if you want to go SLi or the like it's a good choice smile
Although I'm thinking of junking my GTX & going to 2 3870X2's biggrin 4 GPU's....

Out of interest, what sort of resolution monitor do you have and do you see much benefit from having SLi?

The INTEL Q6600 GO stepping is cheaper at www.ebuyer.com have a look at www.overclockers.co.uk i would go for the EVGA 780sli(the 680sli version is a very good board also) over the Striker.

1680x1050 - and yes. Everything is smooth now, where as before I got a few jerks here and there in games.

Oh right smile
I'm still using my old 17" LCD and really need to buy something bigger, just wondering if SLi will be worth it smile
I think so, that or as I said, 3870X2 biggrin
