gents, how easy to make most of a photo b&w leaving one part in original colour?

Very easy, and there a re a few different ways of doing it. Try posting your photo (if you want one done) in the photography forum. Loads of helpful guys in there will either talk you through it, or offer to do it for you.

Personally I find it easier to use a layer mask, as it is much easier to correct any mistakes. Each to their own though.
