Help with wifi range

I live in a community where we all connect wirelessly to a central access point. Unfortunately i live on the very edge about 200m from the aerial. I have a new laptop with built wireless which *just* picks up the signal, but its sketchy. I understand you can get aerials to boost your signal but most of these appear to attach to pci or pcmcia cards, which i dont have.

Can anyone recomend an aerial or booster or something suitable? Will i need to buy a pcmcia wifi card too?
