Why is it traditional for the hard disk on a PC to be the C drive? Is it that in ancient times you only progressed to a hard disk once you had outgrown twin floppy drives (A & B)?
Yes, thats right. Old school PCs used to have a single 5 1/4 inch drive. Posh ones after that had a 3.5 inch drive too, and if you were really posh you had a hard drive, which was named drive C. Thats also why CD Rom drives used to end up being D.
