Office:Mac 2008 spell checker help

I am using a brand new version of office 2008 on my mac. It works fine but the spell checker has stopped working half way through. Any ideas?

Its pretty annoying as it wont pick up something like this: zosdnvjdfnv

Is it happening in all the Office apps, or just one?

My spell-checking is currently working fine and the other Office apps work okay too - other than the speed it's [not] running at 2x2Ghz G5 - nut I'm hoping that my new new Mac Pro will solve that (the road test I did at the Applestore seemed to show that Office & Photoshop 'pop' open in 3 seconds compared to my current 20 on the G5).

I have only experienced this in word. It was working when i was typing in the document then all of a sudden it stopped all together. i am running a core 2 duo 2.0 with 1gb of ram and word still takes a while to open. I am going to order some more ram that should help things i hope.
