Just a word of warning - crashed on a mates couch last night with my iPhone in my pocket and this morning there's a dent in the back, presumably from being squashed in my pocket - my own fault obviously but just a wee warning - they're a bit fragile :-(

Interesting. I've got an iPod touch, which is physically similar to an iPhone, and I've found it to be very durable.

I'm guessing arse pocket plus 12 stone bloke plus sofa equals bent iPhone?

Apart from the chrome back, of course, which was scratched by the brownian motion of the pollen particles in the air between taking the thing out of its box and putting it into its rubber sleeve.

Funny that - I've had one since August last year and it looks as good as new. Never considered it 'fragile' in any sense - certainly not like the 1st gen iPod Nanos which virtually *everyone* managed to crack the screen on.

Of course, you'll knacker it if you sit on it but TBH most things with screens that size will do the same...

I wouldn't say the iPhone is more fragile than any other machine of its type - in fact it's remarkably robust IME - and the original destruction testing Engadget (IIRC) did (involving driving over the thing at the end) showed it up as pretty tough...

Wouldn't call my iPhone fragile. Haven't even suffered from collateral Brownian Motion damage. I have sat on it occasionally when forgetting it is in my back pocket but never slept on it though...
