Not sure if right forum, but i just found these and ordered for my sons birthday in May (3rd)

They seem to make one car with different paint schemes and trim.

It's not quite that simple (there's several base bodies that are similar, for example), though they clearly reuse components a lot.

They've also got a project on kickstarter with some interesting variety:

Or make your own? American Boy Scouts make similar from a $4 kit and race them - Sport of Pinewood Derby has been going since the 50's and models range from basic to amazing -

Made in China. What a shame. Especially when they play the all-American down home schtick for all it's worth.

And they still want $30 for them.
