What's the predictions, 7s or 8, or maybe both ?
What features are expected ?
Are you considering one ?
Missus is thinking of a change from her Oneplus, my 6 is three and a bit years old, been flawless but thinking September may be the time to trade up whilst it still has some value.
Am no Apple fanboy but it's been brilliant.

I used to enjoy being on the upgrade cycle but we've reached the point now with phones where a 6 does everything I ever want a phone to do; I went to 6s but when it had an accident I downgraded to 6 and didn't miss any of the newer features at all - didn't even bother with 7 after having a play with one in a shop, absolutely nothing new in there to tempt me. I really want them to pull something out of the bag to make me crave an 8 but I just don't think it's going to happen, the paradigm shift moments are things of the past now...
Been looking at the leaks because the missus's 6 is becoming erratic.
Agree about the value curve, so it won't be hideously painful financially. She lurves her Apply goodness.
S8 type screen would be nice. Wireless charging would be nice, especially if it worked with my S8 (though it's Apple, so am not holding breath).
Not sure things like 3D front cameras add much, but might be fun.

I'm strongly considering one, I haven't had an iPhone in five years but this looks to be an attractive prospect.
I think the current rumours say there will be three models, a 7S and 7S+ along with the all new iPhone 8/X. The 8 is expected to have an OLED screen and be in very short supply initially. It also appears it will be mostly screen with no home button and possibly no TouchID although I would be very very surprised if that's the case. The replacement is rumoured to be FaceID, although as I said, I'd be surprised.
This is the icon that has appeared in the HomePod firmware and seems to confirm the design rumours. 5.8" screen (ish) and no home button.
This is what it's rumoured to look like in comparison to the current models:
I will bet on it being very, very expensive. Possibly even a £999 starting price, and I base this on nothing more than a guess that they'll paint it as a model above their current phones and they might even restrict supply slightly to generate hype and exclusivity.
Even with that price, I'll strongly consider it. I guess it depends if it'll have a class leading screen and camera, that I expect from both the coming Note 8 and Pixel 2. Even if it doesn't, purely based on the rumours I'd say it's the most attractive prospect to come out of Apple in a while.

My guess is that there will be a 7s/7+s and then new OLED fancy one will be called iPhone Pro and have even more premium pricing.
I'm interested to see what they do about replacing the home button and more crucially the fingerprint reader, assuming the OLED panel on the Pro/8/X covers virtually the whole front panel.

I think the home button is easily replaced by having one on screen, that should be no big deal. The word on the street is that TouchID will be replaced by FaceID, no rumours have mentioned anything about the fingerprint scanner being on the back or below the screen as was rumoured earlier.
I cant see how they can get rid of touch sensor when it's used for Apple pay? I use mine all the time for it now and it's so convenient. How on earth would you use / pay for something without it? Only way I see they could do it is by holding your phone by the payment machine and look at your phone? But then you need somethign to trigger the card screen to enable you to pay....
Not convinced but happy to be proven wrong by Apple!

Apple truly are masters of marketing that they could release a 7S and convince people to spend £1k on an 8 instead.I think the current rumours say there will be three models, a 7S and 7S+ along with the all new iPhone 8/X. I'll probably get the new one in plus size although the lack of headphone jack is a problem for me. I use a fairly pricey set of B&W headphones connected to a headphone amp. They all use wires and I'm not splashing out on new kit. Apart from the chew on of having to use an adaptor, I'm just not convinced they won't get lost or damaged in use. I detest the Android operating system so kind of limits my choices unless I go left field and get something else.
I'm still using the 6S and it does everything I need. Love the fingerprint function but it gets used so much that a bigger screen would be nice hence the want for the plus size. I always thought they were too big to put in you pocket but then I thought that when I went from a 5S to 6S and now I can't even read my other halves 5SE screen!
Wireless charging isn't such a big thing for me but would be a nice feature. I have a Zeppelin dock, chargers upstairs, downstairs and one on my desk at work so I never really run out of juice. It's habit to just plug in when low as I have that many chargers knocking about. That is unless Apple decide to replace the lightening connector on the next one

So in my Scenario 2, where the 256 GB 7S and 7S Plus cost $849 and $969 respectively, the base model 64 GB OLED iPhone would have to cost at least $999, and I think more likely $1099, and the 256 GB model would cost at least $1099 or $1199.
But if Apple expects severe supply constraints on these iPhones, I think prices of $1199 (64 GB) and $1299 (256 GB) are more likely. I honestly don’t think something like $1249/1399 is out of the question.

I'm genuinely surprised they're releasing both an 8, 8+ and X (terrible name imo). I thought they'd go with 7S/7S+ and save the revolutionary stuff for the X.
I guess their logic is that the whole OLED, wireless charging etc functionality is too significant to go with a "S" cycle. It would also tend to suggest that the X isn't going to be a limited edition model, rather like an 8++ ?
Apple have been suffering quite a few leaks lately, another surprise given how much energy they devote to maintaining secrecy... they must have quite a few disgruntled employees nowadays.
I'm also not sure how I feel about losing TouchID and having it replaced with Face Unlock or whatever it's going to be called. Quite often I'll pull my phone out of my jacket, or unlock it whilst it's sat flat on my desk, etc. Having to physically hold it up to my face every time I unlock it sounds intuitively like a step backwards.
