Would anyone be willing to give me a call, and talk me through the master/slave HD setup problems over the phone? I will insist on returning the gesture in beer vouchers, I really do need this fixed tomorrow as I have hours of setting up to do before work on Monday.

How do I plead, without looking like Im begging Is anyone willing to give it a try? A thousand thanks in advance either way

i have two drives from my old pc, c:windows and d:work files

I need to plug the drives in to the new pc, and I am trying to get them to work, one at a time.

The new pc has
1) new type of hard drive connection (sata? thin red wire)
2) dvd drive
3) dvd drive

I have unplugged one of the dvd drives and have got the pc to boot up in c:windows using my old c: drive. BUT, when I get to the password login screen, my mouse/keyboard doesnt work

I am still experimenting with the jumper settings. There are 5 settings on my old drives (5 settings on each drive). Im sure ive tried them all, but i keep getting an "NTLDR is missing" error message on each of the various settings. Or, I boot up into windows but my old drive isnt in the list on windows explorer. Or (the one instance of success) ... I DO boot up into windows using the old operating system, but when i get to the login screen, my mouse/keyboard doesnt work.

Praps it would be easier to get it working if someone was here.
