I downloaded StompSoft digital file shredder, that permanently deletes recycle bin, etc.
Ran a full system cleanup and its eaten ALL the free disc space I had on C drive.

I tried a system restore and the last (and it seems ONLY) restore point was after I did the scan!
I try to click on the previous month tab on system restore and it does nothing. So I'm left with only one system restore, which is today. AFTER the memory be eaten up.
Can anyone shed any light on this dark day I am having?

An agitated, to say the least, Caduceus

Has it reduced the apparent size of the drive, or left something taking up all the space that used to be free?

Check for temp restore files created by said shredder.

just a thought, how does it remove/shred file ?
Maybe that it writes to over write disk a few times to make sure no undelete progs can be run, but hasn't completed properly so leaving lots of duff data about.

Yes. I stopped the scan/shred thingy before it finished, because a windows pop up appeared saying I was running out of disc space.

Website said:
Free hard drive space is gone after using Digital File Shredder Pro

Solution When you use the "Shred Free Disk Space" tool or clean your free space in the system cleaner,
Digital File Shredder Pro creates temporary files on your hard drive as a way to prevent previously deleted data from being recovered.

If this process was canceled or ended prematurely, the temporary files created by Digital File Shredder Pro may still reside on your hard drive(s).
Open Windows Explorer or My Computer and browse to the drive(s) you performed this action on.
Digital File Shredder will have created a folder named "1", or "2", "3",etc for subsequent tries (e.g. C:1).
Delete these folders to reclaim your hard drive space. Deleting these folders may take a long time as there will be many temp. files in these folders.

Taken from their website,
