Apart from the poo battery life, there's nothing wrong with my 6300. But.

But.

I've been pining for the 6310i!

So i bought one (another one!) off eBay yesterday.

It truly is the best phone evar.

Battery life is all-conquering - I've never owned a handset as good as the 6310i for this.

Radio performance is stunning - there aren't many phones that work on the Underground, but this is one that does.

Voice quality is of the first water - Mrs CJ can't tell I'm not on a landline when I'm whispering sweet nothings to her.

Build quality is astounding - I really don't believe there's another handset out there (well, possibly the Siemens C35, which was tank-like) that can sustain the abuse I gave my old 6310i and still stay completely functional.

No, it's not pretty and no, it's not got much memory, but good lord, I love this phone.

I'm not going to get rid of this one. I shall keep it until GSM is a distant memory of which tales are told to my great-grandchildren. Yea, even though I may have transient jackdaw-attractor phones of blingy nature, I shall cleave true to the 6310i.

I collected all the old ones from work as people upgraded! I keep mine as for some time it was about the only phone that MB supported on their HF kit.

What's the logical upgrade from a 6310i (good solid 'business' phone) - there are so many Nokia phones now I get totally confused.
The logical upgrade from a 6310i is to another 6310i.

Another fan here.

I'm on my second 6310i, only because I got another one on contract a few years ago for £50, and sold the old one on Ebay for £80. Go figure.

The front silver case on mine has lost a few flakes of paint from the bottom of it, just wear and tear. Where can I get a genuine Nokia faceplate for it? Ebay is full of them, but I have no idea what the quality of them is like.
I've had a couple. Generally, go a for a genuine Nokia fascia from a super-high-feedback store and you can't fall off. Don't forget the #6 Torx driver to dismantle the phone with.

I've got a silver one, but I've got a Black/Gold fascia kit en route.

The silver doesn't wear as well as the black/gold, even though it initially looks a bit smarter.

Yep, top bit of kit. Any more links for refurbished ones / car kits / new fascias appreciated...

Do you have to change the keypad if you are changing the fascia or did I just read that wrong?
You don't have to, but most fascias (esp. refurb) you buy will have a keypad with them.
