Bought a couple of Logitech Webcams, one for us and one for the old dear for Xmas - idea is she can see more of the grandkids as we live a long way away. All we want to do is talk to/see each other. Is there any decent software we should be using - do we have to use MSN or something - have heard about skype, but think these might be overkill? Hoping the webcams will come with some basic software. Both on broadband so speed shouldnt be an issue

Webcams are both Logitech Quickcam Communicate STX Plus if that makes a difference

Thanks for any help and apologies for my gross incompetance

MSN ought to be quite sufficient. Install the webcams, then go to Live.com, get messenger and install it. sign up from each PC with a different account, then each add the other as a friend. job done.
Happy webcamming
Sounds just the ticket, thanks!

live.com implies messenger might not work with XP Professional?? Surely not?
