Sorry to learn that; especially since there has been positive news of forum members (well ok one forum member!) getting his car delivered imminently.
Like user E63S, I’ve waited this long so am keeping my order in. As today was my scheduled build date, I’ve again requested an update from my dealer. If she comes back in the negative I may jump off the Severn Bridge instead of crossing it to collect my new car!

Before you jump, can you find out whether you’re behind or ahead of me on the production line? If ahead, please ask if they can build my car instead. Thanks. ;-)

Given that my car has had both a VIN and engine number for weeks now, I reckon the car is probably built but going through the quality control checks I posted about previously.

I couldn’t stand the drip, drip, drip of information so have arrived at my decision. If Mercedes had been up front and told me, for example, that my car was going to be delayed by 3 months, but that they could guarantee that I would take delivery in 3 months, then that would have been acceptable to me, but not this situation.

My M5 is in unbelievably good nick, doesn’t have a penny of finance on it, and is exceptional fun to drive. The cost to change was £50k+ and that just didn’t feel like good value for money at the present time (my wife and I have possibly taken leave of our senses and are about to build a large extension to our home, are building a brand new holiday home abroad and refurbishing a holiday home here in the UK all at the same time).

It’s one to reassess in a few months time.

Holy cow Batman my car's almost on the boat to UK!!
Production finished in Sindelfingen. No delays showing.
Showing a 'final factory inspection date'; 'final factory dispatch date' and 'actual despatch date' of yesterday.

Fantastic news!

Maybe it was me who was causing the blockage? <poop emoji>

How did your dealer take your decision? Hope they’re going to refund your deposit, given the circumstances.
UPDATE:

Since I requested the refund the dealer hasn’t acknowledged my email and has stopped returning my calls laughbyebye

I don’t think it’s anything hugely untoward at this stage, but let’s see...

What’s the betting your deposit will suddenly appear back in your account, without any further contact from your dealer?!

If my car's getting done, and yours was due to be built around now, why not give it a final fling fortnight and see if it doesn't bring better news?
If you are getting any other car you'd have to wait a while anyway?
Just seems a shame.

I’m happy with my decision. I’ll have the summer in my M5 and will hopefully have something lined up for September/October time.

The dealer responded:

“Sorry for the delay.

I am sorry to hear that you want to cancel but I understand the reason.

Apologies for not being able to come back to you sooner, it is a very busy week as you can imagine for the last week of March.

Will process your refund and it should take around 7 working days.

Many thanks and I hope we see you in the future.”

No worries.
I’ll believe it when I actually see it, but so far all points towards a fulfilling blast over the Brecon Beacons in mid April (hopefully following a sound Spurs victory at Wembley the day before!)

I was told mine is still "in production" and that it has actually completely assembly but has not been released by QC for shipping yet. Was told to expect it to be "in transit" by next week.

Post Easter update from dealer first thing this morning: Car into production 26 March, build completed 28 March, at Zeebrugge 29 March. Est delivery to dealership now a day earlier at 9 April.
Given comments by others on additional QC delays, this kind of gets you thinking about what is *really* going on!

That is super brill news!

Mine is still showing as due to be built on 06/04. It hasn’t slipped for 2 weeks now, so confidence has increased to 2/10.

Bet it doesn’t take 7 days to process paying your deposit.

Whilst I will pass on the sideways action, that’s frigging brilliant news!
Appears the German engineers are fuelled by chocolate!

I would have sent them all an Easter egg back in Feb if I had known that’s all it would take.

ETA at Mercedes Oop North is 19/04. Hopefully they can get it ready for 21/04, as after that I may have to wait until after Mrs E63S has dropped our sprog. Or I could go and collect it and get divorced. Hmm. Decisions decisions...
