2 options as I see it. Driven delivery or stick your foot down on way back to hospital ;-)

So what in peoples’ opinion are worth taking out?
Star guard protection - I’m having a full detail and 50% wrapping anyway so not really worth it.
GAP - have that included on my insurance policy anyway.
Smart protect - with the wrap, stonechips won’t really bother me in critical areas anyway (despite being Matt grey).
Service pack - 61 a month. This one is the one I’m really uncertain about as don’t know servicing costs for an e class?
I know I’ve answered 3 of the 4 but still interested in opinions based on ownership thanks

Already have gap. I’m going to have the alloy/tyre cover, and I think that’s it. I’ll take the service care plan, unless I get it for free as a result of my complaint.

Given the state of our roads and the shocking amount of rim protection on AMG alloys I'd thoroughly recommend alloy/tyres insurance.

I picked the car up yesterday and it is truly terrific. Well worth the wait!

I have a C63S estate and this is just another level to it. In terms of power and refinement it is incredible. I love the 4Matic+ and the 9 speed gearbox is sensational. Running in obviously but you can feel the power from low down…It does feel a bit like a space ship in so far that its abilities are so high.

There are loads of cool gadgets and the interior is very high quality. I will say again that the Merc dealer and salesman were really excellent, it was just such a shame they were up against it with the fiasco at the factory. One of the good things to come out of the delay was that this car has the upgraded track app which means they as well as lap timing, it will also time 0-60, 0-100mph etc. And based on some videos I saw on YouTube its accurate (compared against a Vbox).

Apologies tried uploading pics to the forum but it wouldnt work.

That’s great news, Adam. Glad to hear it was worth the wait. Running in is going to be tough. The 200 mile trip home from the dealer will take up a decent chunk though. How long is it, 1000 Miles?

Super news, and congrats pal. Hopefully I'll be enjoying my 4.5 hour drive home at end of next week as scheduled :-)

Yep I believe it is around that much. And at 1800miles the diff needs new oil too

Hopefully it won’t take too long. Got the drive home, then have a trip to Paris in mid-May. Currently planning to Eurostar it, but will work on convincing the better half that driving there is far more sensible. That would be a 760 mile round trip.

The diff oil change is complementary I believe. Wonder if there’s any benefit in getting the engine oil changed at the same time?

Yes that’s right it is complimentary and its quite a shock to the system having work done at a dealer and not paying for it! When I did my C63S I thought about an engine oil change too, but didn’t bother and its not suffered as a result, besides the one year service is an oil change (which its just had).

As they are essentially the same engine Ill do the same with the E63

How many days after leaving the factory did it land in the UK? Just trying to work out whether mine might arrive at the dealer before the 19th!

IIRC it was at Zeebrugge on 29th the day after build finished then in UK on 6th but we did have Easter weekend as well. I’m assuming it will arrive at the dealership tomorrow or Tuesday as I’m collecting Friday.
