2012 C63 AMG - Exhaust Recommendations
Discussion
Have been mulling this Miltek idea over in my head for my C63PPP.
It makes a really great noise standard but I guess I thought at low speeds and idle it would have a little more oomph to it.
If people think that you still get the quiet refinement at motorway speeds then I'm keen, would just be annoying to spend £400 and end up with a drone that drives my wife mad!

Re the Milltek secondary cat bypass:
Unless you floor it they sound virtually the same - almost docile but anyone listening will instantly recognise it as a V8. I compared side-by-side to a friend's C63 with stock exhaust (before he also removed his pipes - but then he also went deristricted and chipped!) at The Ace a while back and they are very close soundwise. Perhaps the main difference is in the mid-range rort when floored but the stock setup is by no means lacking.
I know some V8s, AMGs, etc. can sound loud when they wake up but mine roars really loudly particularly when started a cold, damp morning. In fact, it frightens my gf every time - nice
IMHO I feel this must add a bit more power and noise by the simple fact that the air has a cleaner exit path both sides. Also, they say it adds 12hp but I wouldn't know. And, I've been told no problem re the MOT when the time comes.
I haven't noticed any more noise at crusing speeds - definately not an ear-attack nor tiring to drive.
Hope this helps.
I plan to do a moving test with me in another car side-by-side, following and in front so will let you know.

Ive been living with the Miltek secondary cat bypass on my C63 for a couple of weeks now. For me I can hand on heart say it's got to be a compulsory mod for any C63 owner.
I've noticed a huge difference between the stock and Miltek both interms of volume and exhaust note. Cruising/ idling as previously mentioned is similar to stock apart from during startup. More noise and pops!
Naturally i'm a massive showoff so use the paddles and make as much noise as possible.
Anybody on the fence should go for it!

Want to say that it's a well made video and it is. Not sure it quite shows the difference between the two, trouble with videoing inside the unit. Miltek undoubtedly has an edge though.
Anyway, have been quoted £492 installed for the X-Pipe from a Miltek dealer here in London, seems very reasonable.
So if it is any help to prospective buyers of the Miltek system, let me give you my thoughts. On Friday, Tuning Werkes in London fitted the Miltek system to my car, a 2010 C63 PPP.
I am so happy with the final result, it is exactly what I wanted. When you start the car, there is a little more depth to the start-up "Whumpf" but not to the neighbour-danger levels that you might worry about. Under gentle driving, there is barely any difference, possibly a fraction more burble. Mid range and top end sound is strenghtened but still very acceptable, it's just the right balance between being louder and being anywhere close to antisocial.
If I have the rear windows open the you can hear every pop of the exhaust as you change down a gear for a junction or when stopping. Don't imagine Jaguar F-type artillery fire but you do get some lovely "Cracks" and the ocassional "Crackle".
At A-road/Motorway speeds, it still does what it does best in waffling along at low revs in seventh with no additional noise at all.
For the price vs smile factor, there is nothing better you can do to your C63. It is utter perfection and makes me love 'Big Silver' even more than ever. Get it bought.

This, in my opinion, is the best sounding C63 AMG (best sounding thing) by far. No idea what the exhaust set up is apart from an x-pipe.
