Seems about the right money. I bet it has rust though. Mail him and see what story he gives you. Someone who can't understand what the 'CAPS LCK' button means and who includes a 'privet number plate' in the sale could well be a big dodgy....
I thought they were generally going for more than that. I'm really not interested; with 3 Mercs already, 2 of them cabrios, I'd be in the divorce courts if I bought a 107 as well! Bought my 89 300SL two years ago with 24k miles (now28k) and is my favourite car, SLS included. Don't think that I would ever sell. Prices seem to have increased significantly in the last year or two. my car is totally original including paintwork. Managed to win the MB National Concours in its class this year so well chuffed. Don't ask for picks as I don't know how, unless someone wants to do it for me.

Here's my R107 .... 1979, in silver with blue leather, manual gearbox on a 350 V8, interesting history (even a TV appearance) and only 55k miles....
Now that's a lovely car. Interesting spec, too. What's it like with the manual transmission? The little experience I have of the 107 suggests it's a satisfying, direct, communicative car; with a manual is have thought it very pleasing to drive with care and speed. I really like these earlier cars.I drive this car and I can't take the smile off my face - hard top on / roof down. She has made such a connection with me that I'll forgive her anything. The odd rattle in this 35 year old, here and there, doesn't bother me in the slightest? The original radio is dreadful, but I never have it on. I lose myself in the sensation of V8 grunt, open top motoring and by the way there is surprising little buffeting from the wind. I have never driven more than an hour's journey in her but I could imagine much more and the cramped cockpit might be tiring, especially as I'm over 6 foot and there isn't much leg room for the left leg. The suspension makes the ride a bit wafty, the steering wheel is large and on mine there is a little bit of 'play'. But it drives so well. First attraction was seeing the car in its colour combination (silver and blue roof) 'across a crowded room' , but when I saw the 4 speed manual gearbox, that was the clincher. The shift is not sporty and in truth the engine has lots of torque so gear changes are not needed as frequently as you'd think. The other thing about the manual is the rarity, so it gives that extra bit of feeling special when you drive it.

500gbp for the sensor! Hoping to find one on a parts car now.
Do you need this because the ABS light is on? Mine's been coming on as well since the last service. Anyone see Harry Metcalfe's SL caught fire today? Wonder whether the fire extinguisher in mine still works...
