"Estimated retail value £14,500", hmm, seems toppy for a 137,500 mile car, let alone one that's been through a minor write-off and rebuild.

yum

That car was first marketed at 13k or so then has slid down and down. This is the second consecutive time it has gone to auction at Baron's.

Either the provenance is terrible or it runs like the proverbial bag of spanners, but at 5-7k (which will probably be the lower end of that too) it's a lot of car for the money.

This 137k mile car comes pre-crashed for your convenience and has been bid to 2.4k already by the desperate scrappers. Or you could buy the other one.

Currently at £3300 with three hours to go. Maybe £3k in parts but you can buy a one on 4 wheels and running for not much more.

No more, unless someone turns up a pre-facelift 600SL/SL600 in Pearl Blue in which case they can name their price.

Given your hawk-like oversight of the market, and record of resolute action, I am reasonably confident that you will have one by the end of the year

Hey thanks, I quite like it too haha.

Soon to have the hard top off again, the soft top has only seen the light of day maybe what, for eight months over the life of the car? For some of those it was left in my old undercroft space on the Isle of Wight, so at home or in the open no time at all.

Do you like the dark green? With the Helios interior I always loved this. I know not a 4-5k car but what the hell, it doesn't hurt.

I was looking for the locking wheel nut key earlier, and ended up looking through the service book for the 'coderung' sticker, couldn't see it but saw my signatures in the book from when I used to deal with the previous owner while at Mercedes, forgot about that haha, all old invoices and stuff, a print confirming the car had not a single warranty claim. Found the original CoC paper in the yellow folder, and the wallet remote haha, forgot I had one!

Anyway, thanks, will give it a clean. We may take it across to Italy. I only ever kept it to drive abroad sometime before selling it and never have, so Mrs for her 50th said can we? Why not in this eh? ;O)

Email? I thought it was a short novel wink

I'll get back to you later this morning on it. On child duty right now. I do want to sell it as another car (NOT AN R129!!) has popped up that I'd like to buy.

BTW I think the eBay car is blue, though it's hard to be sure. Dark seats don't go very well with that colour IMHO.

Yes, there's something just arrived on the scene that rather takes my eye too, except it's over 10 hours away.

Allan, you are about 8 hours from me now , I'm in Oban, it's almost a different time zone. There's a car rather similar to your W124 that you sold last year, different colour, about the same starting price as yours but it's about as far away from me as you can get without falling into the English Channel!

Having sold our house in Yorkshire and now settled in Scotland I can now start to look for a 4 seat convertible to replace the two seats in the TVR.
Or an SL and continue to suffer the slings and arrows of "we can't all get into that". Been looking at Alex's SL2 and it's a worthwhile option, leaving me a little cash to do other things but......

Is there anyone here live in Shoreham?

I'm actually thinking of going to the South Coast tomorrow, visiting relatives and picking up some R129 gubbins I've bought. Also someone to the west of London wants a squizz at SL3.

But I can tell you now, whatever it is, that you should buy SL2. Family outings are overrated.
