I have downloaded BMW connected for my 2016 330d. Seems to have connected fine, but doesn't display mileage, fuel status etc. My friends 440i does. Am I doing something wrong?

Have you paired it to the car?

Have you got BMW Connected, the latest app, or BMW Connected Classic? The update was intended to combine the BMW Remote app and the (now Classic) Connected app.

I've just updated (new phone) to Connected and it doesn't seem to have the mileage data. IIRC the Classic needed a USB connection to the car to do this but it wasn't something I got around to trying.

I've yet to test how the maps on the app interact with the nav on the car and/or the dealer-fit HUD.

Probably the only real value is that it'll track the position of your car.

Yep paired to the car and I have the tracking features, as well as the lights on/off stuff, just no mileage and fuel. It's the latest Connected App too....

Will functionality depend on car options? I found it all quite confusing. What do the two vehicles options look like on the respective on-line connected account? I have also found the functionality intermittent. All a bit crap really. Don't bother calling the help desk, they dont, cant or wont. They are the BMW Finance arm - subs they can cope with but any tech issues and its turn-off/on malarky, delete app and reload etc. Beyond that it's take your car (and presumably phone) in to a MD...

Have you tried connecting it via the USB?

Have you tried logging into the ConnectedDrive web page / dashboard and see if the information is there? IIRC you have to "enable" loads of bits on the dashboard to get everything talking properly - well I did have to on mine.
