STOLEN: Silver C63 Saloon
Discussion
PHers - my Silver C63 Saloon with the black 19" wheels was stolen off my drive at 01:20 this morning (my neighbour heard it going). The only external distinguishing features was that it had the carbon pack which was carbon fibre wing mirrors and boot lip spoiler.
They broke into my house and stole the keys and my wallet - nothing else was touched so the car was specifically targeted. My wallet has since been found discarded a mile or so away with only £40 cash gone missing (but I'd already cancelled all my cards).
There was only a small amount of fuel left on the reserve so they wouldn't have got far without having to dump the car or fill it up but nevertheless it's gone. If any one sees one matching the description sitting around in a quiet car park or just turned up in their neighbourhood, please could you either DM me or contact Essex Police on 101. The plates have probably been changed but the plate that was on it was WIB 444.
Thanks in advance for keeping them peeled!

Here's the final update!
Car not found but the police know what plates it's running around on (seems it's being used as a getaway car as witnesses have described it), but almost certain that the plates will be changed around regularly!
They found my ipod connector lead and my dart-tag dumped into a field just off the A12 in Ilford. Seems the area is a common ground for car and number plate theft as there are signs up all over the place alerting people to the fact! The Met Police have also found my number plates, not that they are much use. Tracker haven't see the car again since the morning it was stolen.
The insurance gave me a very fair payout and GAP insurance covered the value up to my invoice value. So having owned the car for 10 months it hasn't actually cost me anything other than some RFL, tyres, insurance and petrol. More than happy that it's turned out this way as I didn't want the car back after some scrotes have been abusing it. I'd never taken out GAP insurance before but I'm so glad I did and I can definitely see the value for this type of purchase in future!
I'm now looking for an interim car to see me through to my 50th (next year) when man maths will come into full play to satisfy my mid life crisis I thought about getting another C63 now as there are some great deals on them but I just can't bring myself to do it, plus the kids aren't happy about me having another nice car at the moment in case we have the same issue again (which is understandable).
Thanks all once again
Cheers
Rick

gap insurance ? Forgive my ignorance.made up you are sorted.50? A mere slip of a lad got my sl55 at 55 never too old to have fun mate!
GAP insurance pays out the difference between what the insurance pays out on a total loss (ie the market value of your car at the time of the incident), and the value on the invoice for the car when you bought it (or the cost to terminate your finance/lease agreement early if greater, if you have one). Therefore you get back what you paid for it so have only lost the cost of running the car between purchase and total loss.50 - yup not something that worries me. Just a perfect excuse to get the scientific version of the man maths calculator out and have something seriously fun
