Hi all

Just after some advice, hopefully some one may have previous experience.

My w204 (1.8 kompressor) had been making a knocking sound, then last week or so when ever I braked the back end would pull out.

Jacked it up this morning and found that the Nearside rear wheel has pretty much corroded away from the subframe.

Not ideal, does anyone have any idea what a rough ball park figure would be, I've also heard that the subframes may be covered under goodwill from mercedes but I'm expecting this require some effort.

Cheers

Thanks for the advice all!

I'd be quite happy if all i had to pay 250 quid on all honeslty.
I'll make a few enquires during the week at my local dealers and see what they say

Cheers

A quick update

Mercedes agreed that they would change the subframe FOC but I would be liable for new bolts if they needed replacing ( ball park figure of 500 quid according to the dealership )

Had a phonecall Friday that the track rods need replacing at a cost of 850 quid as they are completely seized.

When I asked if this was in addition to the 500 pound for bolts they said no new bolts were needed and it was 850 just for the track rod ends which to me seems excessive

Do the trackrod ends require doing to do the subframe or could I get the trackrod ends replaced at my indie once the subframe has been replaced?

Thanks
