4C - Where are we with prices right now?
Discussion
So having bought most of my cars privately, including the Italian ones, without any issues, what are the private bids Into trade on a Spider currently running at?
Values seems v strong at the few dealers with cars and not sure they are vfm at that for me. But definitely good for any owners!
I only ask as my current doer-upper is complete and they look lovely things as I certainly can’t get to an A110, which is my other current want. Please PM me if anyone wishes to be discrete.

From experience, dealers want to beg these cars for buttons and add £10k for their resale. Often doing little more than adding a 3rd party warranty. The bids my pal got from some of the names on this thread were risible.
Sale or return seems popular with many traders as well. Nice for them to sell a car they haven’t paid for and scalp a juicy return for writing an advert, offering uncompetitive finance and perhaps adding that same aftermarket warranty.
They get away with it as these are toy cars.
Owners are typically affluent and aren’t focussed on dealing with a private sale. Those selling them profit from that. I don’t mind anyone making a living but I’ve never seen such a discrepancy with any other car under £50k between buy/ sell price.

That is a bit off, I took a £6k hit when I sold my F355 to a dealer although it was returning to the people that sourced it for me. And Rardley Motors were great to deal with but I still thought it was a bit steep.
However, fishing, a Spider beginning with a 2 or low 3 would be of interest. But not at nearly £40k. Never been convinced with the price uplift for a warranty. They are just cars after all, regardless of builder. .

Just seen that JayEmm has done another 4C video on youtube with an alfaworks hybrid turbo modified car with Nitrons. Essentially he prefers the standard car with stage 1 ecu and intermediate geometry.
Funny he does not like the kick in the back when upshifting; that is one of the things I love about the car.993-4C said:

I think it's quite different with the alfaworks race ECU and hybrid turbo to the standard ECU or stage 1 remap, I've heard the same thing from multiple people on 4C-forums as well as a chap at a Silverstone track day who was running the race ECU with hybrid turbo and he was complaining about the "surging" on upshifts really upsetting the car's handling on track.I do know Jamie has something in the works which hasn't been released yet though and that should fix the issue.

Oh I see; my car is standard so I quite like it there but I can fully see it can be annoying or even affect the handling in case it is too hard (would not mind trying it though).I do know Jamie has something in the works which hasn't been released yet though and that should fix the issue.

If I understand correctly hat I have read on forums, this feature is some how built in the transmission mount because there seems to be some kind of play (on purpose) between the fixing bolt and the mount itself (could be wrong though).

I think what you're referring to is the lower engine mount? There is indeed some play there and there are a few options such as GMS mount or the powerflex bush (which just fills the gaps in the OEM mount). These mods do make the shifts a bit more crisp, but I don't think it's the cause of the surging issueIf I understand correctly hat I have read on forums, this feature is some how built in the transmission mount because there seems to be some kind of play (on purpose) between the fixing bolt and the mount itself (could be wrong though).

Cheapest spider £38k
Is it my imagination but I could have sworn there were always around 20-30 on autotrader not that long ago (even this year) but now, as you say, there are as little as 7-8. What's that all about?Cheapest spider £38k
People hanging on to them? or more interest?

Been less than 20 for a good while and less than 10 for a few weeks. Maybe people are realising what great cars they are ( with a couple of tweaks obviously 😉 )
This looks reasonable if you could get it for £36k https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Alfa-Romeo-Alfa-4c-Alfa...
