The Alfa Romeo 4C lease thread

My guess is that they've been caught out and the value of the car is lower than they thought, so they're trying to re-coup some of that. The alternative hypothesis is that they think the value of the car will tank between years 2 and 3.
Not convinced and think resale prices of used are higher than anticipated given the cars were discounted from the off. Plus the lease companies didn't have a crystal ball to predict the model would cease production, only few would be registered in UK and whilst they have a limited appeal, the following seems to be strong enough to guarantee exclusivity and interest as more people get to know about these cars. ARUK didn't 'advertise' the cars from the off but tried to the alternative approach letting journalists drive them and report. Giving them cars that had race suspension and early cars that needed the 'pitstop' suspension upgrade didn't help them or initial sales.
Anyone sorted their first service yet? Been emailing / phoning around today. Not sure all the dealers have the right service schedule for the 4C - had a couple of quotes back of £3-400 but this obviously isn't right. (This is Chester and Leeds Alfa) haven't spoken to them on the phone yet though as they left voicemails.
Mangoletsi around £1000 and around £775 from Chesterfield. I'm not far off all of these in terms of drive time.

I picked my car up on 25 May 2018 so I expect service is due 25 May 2019 but I plan to delay it by a couple of weeks to avoid the second service. Anybody else have there's due around then? From the Thames deal? Maybe if there is a few of us we can negotiate a deal. I'm in the south east.
I really don't want to be paying more than £700-800. Wish we could take it to Jamie...

Anyone on the Thames deal that is considering an extension.... prepare to be disappointed. I was updating some details today so thought I'd enquire about extending. £250 a month to £687 keeping at an additional 6000 miles pa.
I was expecting a big jump (seeing as we basically stole these 4C's) however that's too much for me to consider, unfortunately. I'd rather try something else for that money (or buy a 4C)

I also asked about an extension quote for my 50th Anniversary, they wanted £754.00 from £323.00 so it's going back, a 570s has already arrived as it's replacement I was expecting a big jump (seeing as we basically stole these 4C's) however that's too much for me to consider, unfortunately. Not a bad replacement I guess then...! Amateurish said:
Oof, did you ask for a price to buy it?
No not yet, I will ask nearer the time but based on that I can't see it being too competitive. I think I'd probably rather swap for one with a few options if I was to go the purchase route too - so I'm completely undecided now. I'm already worried that its leaving me next JanuaryIt's all a bit of a conundrum what to do with a leased 4C.
My current thinking is as follows:
A lease extension with FCA is a total non-starter - it's not even worth considering for a nano-second
Buying the car from FCA is an expensive luxury - yes, you'll get a car that you've "owned" since new, but you'll be paying over the odds for the privilege
Then you have to factor in what everyone else is going to do - if they all think the same way that I do - then quite a few cars will appear on the 2nd hand market as the leases expire. Not everyone that hands back a lease car will replace it with another 4C - this will lead to a net increase in available cars - which will decrease prices.
I wonder how easy it would be to buy back your "own" car at auction?

Same thinking as I did a few weeks ago and put the same argument to FCA or Leasys about the market becoming awash with ex lease cars so prices would be depressed. Brick wall comes to mind. They wanted £43.5k for my 12k car which I told them was not competitive with the current market. They insist that this price is what they will achieve at auction My current thinking is as follows:

So, they will be auctioning my car and I'd like to know the price it achieves as I think they're talking out of their corporate bottom's.

Need to get my first service done and struggling to find a good dealer in the London/Surrey area. Motor Village Croydon are the closest local main dealer but I fear they haven’t seen an 4Cs before. Also they don’t seem interested in returning my calls!
Where did you get it done and how much? I'm in Kent and need a service soon Moley RUFC said:
Same boat for me. My Spider goes back next July currently on lease with Leasys.
My initial plan was to buy the 4C however now I’m convinced I’ll be sending it back in July and then buying a second hand one during winter next year - hopefully getting a good deal on a better spec car.
It could be cheaper to buy it back when market is flooded with them after lease end. By winter time they can sell out and prices could be higher. I'm talking based on my experience with very cheap Audi S8 deal. VW buy out price was high, car hit second hand market as one of the first ones and then prices went down as more cars came back from lease. Prices are not much lower 2 years later, because there's not a lot of cars of this particular model on sale.
