Abarth 595 Competizione as a daily?

It sounds like we might have a race to see who get's their car first. If you don't mind I'll hijack this thread and update it as my order progresses?
I've gone all out on my new car, the spec will be: 595c Competizione in Podium blue with formula magnesium finish wheels and yellow callipers. Standard seats in tobacco leather, 7 inch head unit with carplay/android auto, beats hi fi, dipping mirror, xenon lights, carbon dash and wind stop. The wind stop is a 595c part.
I didn't go for the performance pack as I have a fat arse so the seats are no good for me and I'm not a fan of black wheels, I would have liked the LSD but I figure I can get one fitted for less than the performance pack would be. But to be fair I've not found my Turismo needs one, to be honest I'm mainly on the motorway but it will get the odd thrash around.
When it arrives I'll be looking to get heat pads installed into the seats so that I can get the roof down as much as possible, I'm also tempted to get cruise control to assist on the motorway.

Indeed hopefully in the nicest possible way I get mine first as; I am largely quite impatient and also quite excited as it's the first ever brand new car I have ordered, one of my bucket list items ticked! (sad I know!)
I was thinking about Xenons earlier, I left them off, but there is a thinking from the dealer it might arrive with them, I dunno, maybe they know something i don't?
Cruise control seems an easy retrofit and a bit of an arse you can't spec the 595 with it really, I will probably be doing the same but seeing how it affects the warranty before I do, however lots of others seem to have done it without issue!
So after pushing the dealer and houding them for an answer, they have fessed up that our orders didn't go in before the factory closed, thus we wont have our cars until late September/early October. Am a bit pissed if I am honest, a 8-12 week wait has become a 16-20 week wait, I'll confess we weren't in much of a hurry however it would have been good to get this info at the outset, the work we have had to do to get this info out of them has left a bitter taste.

What dealer are you using? Mine is coming from Research in Nuneaton.
I won't name and shame, but they are based in Northampton...Bungleaio said:
I've been reading on some other forums that the 2019MY cars will be have reduced performance due to euro 6 emissions. Golf R down to 300 from 310 for example. I fear the 595 will also see a reduction but I've not seen anything to say that's a definite.
Yes I was wondering however I don't know if my dealer would understand even if I asked them to be honest! I might contact Abarth UK and see what's what on all fronts, will report back what I learn!Just had confirmation from Abarth that the 595 range wont be affected by the new emissions update. They have also been very proactive into looking into the dealer stuff for me keeping me updated on whats going on with the factory, which is more than can be said from the dealer, still radio silence, however for those interested and for those with one ordered, apparently the factory reopens for ordering this week!

Thats great news! If the factory is accepting orders again do they know when they will actually commencing manufacture?
They said they were hoping for the first cars to be delivered early October but someone would call me to give a more accurate timeline soon.595Heaven said:

Hmmm.... Not sure I believe that...From 1st September, nearly all new passenger cars must be certified to WLTP (which replaces NEDC). This invariably means the CO2 figure will be higher (although hopefully in the same VED band) and the 'combined' economy will be worse. WLTP is a much more representative test than NEDC, so the economy figures will be closer to what you actually will achieve.
I say 'nearly all', as there is a 'derogation' process for vehicles built before 1st June to to registered on or after 1st September. Vehicles with Whole Vehicle Type Approval (i.e. pretty much anything other than kit built cars and conversions) built June through August cannot be registered after 31st August. Won't apply to your car if it is not built yet...

Minor update but my dealer has said that the factory is now accepting orders for some models but not the Competizione, they expect that to be in the next few days.
I've booked my Turismo in for its first service next week so I'll pop in and see if they have managed to place the order.
Yeah same here in regards to the Comp order, I think there are some 2018 updates coming as per the posts earlier on so that maybe why perhaps!I've booked my Turismo in for its first service next week so I'll pop in and see if they have managed to place the order.
My order has been placed now the wait begins! Am also going to cave and get Xenons added, have a hire car this week and it doesn't have them I felt like Mr Magoo driving down the lanes, although that could just be this car I don't want to be stuck for 4 years thinking "I really should have ordered Xenons!"

No that’s the standard lights, very poor. Well worth the upgrade. The 595 has suffered with spec creep from me though lol. Was supposed to be a 595 with the Performance Pack, its now turned into one with PP, 7" Nav, Carplay and Xenons. Thats it now though, no more
Sorry forgot Beats its already on the order! Confirmation from the dealer as follows:
595 Comp with Performance Pack, in Abarth Red with Black Decals, 7" Nav, Beats Audio, Xenons and Carplay
I did want tints as well but can have that done locally for a lot less so that will be done separately. Also had paint protection thrown in free.

Tapping my fingers on the desk... is it the end of September yet? Car is being built next week! Wish I could watch it being assembled over a camera feed or something would be exceptionally cool! Getting rather over excited, my first ever brand new car spec'ed to how I want it, feel like a child waiting for Christmas!

Website has been updated today https://www.abarthcars.co.uk/abarth-595-competizio... Configurator is still the same.
Still no info from my dealer about a build week for my car. I put a call into the Abarth customer relations team in Turin who said they would try and get an update for me.
I have spoken to these guys, they are really good and were really useful when I had trouble working out what was going on! Still no info from my dealer about a build week for my car. I put a call into the Abarth customer relations team in Turin who said they would try and get an update for me.

Hi Dan,
Hope you are well, great news your car has finally been built and is set to be shipped to the UK. I'll call you when it gets to the UK and take things from there. We are expecting you to be in the car still by the end of September or possibly the first few days of October.

I have to tease the information out of him which is a bit annoying but he's only been in the car game since early this year.
Its different to what the customer service team said though as they noted it isn't scheduled for build until the latter part of the week. I will wait and see.
I have had similar issues with the dealer, when talking to Abarth Customer Care I compared it to extracting blood from a stone. They have since been alot better but I can imagine that this is as of a result of me talking to ACC and not off their own improvements. Its different to what the customer service team said though as they noted it isn't scheduled for build until the latter part of the week.
