Awesome! Yes - the exhaust needing everything off sucks, but how does the car feel when pressing on without the safety nets? Bit of an animal? Or fine unless provoked?

I think 26 mpg is pretty good. On a long run in my S4 I will be lucky to see low 30's, and that's a pretty standard 350bhp V6. You're carrying a much more special engine as well as 155bhp more!

If you can share the figures you're paying I'd really appreciate it so I can understand how much of a jump I need to make from my S4, but for now I think its substantial. Sounds worth it though! smile
As regards the "All off", It feels great on dry road with warm tyres, I track day a Caterham so used to that all off feel. But I am conscious of 510bhp to rear wheels and don't wish to be "that guy" that kerbed or worse his brand new car. I pushed it to break out and it does feel very controllable, but would like to do a drift day or get it off the public roads to explore this. I don't want to do a full on track day, so may be need to find an empty car park and have some fun. its just so capable that your 20-40 mph faster than everything else on the roads. without being anywhere near the limits.

My Jag XEs was 325BHP and could get 38mpg on a good run, and the QV recons 34 combined, I would like to know if anyone is actually getting that. I have some very long motor ways on Tuesday so will get a better Idea after that.

Feel free to PM me and can discuss monies

I tried sitting at about 65 to 70mph on a motorway journey once and got almost 40mpg. Got bored after 45 minutes and never tried again. Impressive though.
Round town and flooring it kills the economy though. I average about 22mpg doing just that.
And there lies the problem, getting good Mpg is just boring. But amazing to get it near 40. Interesting if it gets better in time.

I have seen readouts from the display showing mid thirties for long runs in the QF, at the legal averages too, not dawdling.
Most Alfa’s seem to need some time to settle in before returning good economy. They also seem to sound nicer and nicer too, not sure why but I’ve certainly noticed it on my Veloce and I did when I ran Petrol 156’s too.
While they were looking for my car (once again don’t ask) they gave me a veloce 2.0lt turbo 280bhp i think?? . I was impressed with it, drives so nice and you can use all the power all the time . By doing it in reverse to its brands and making the quadrifoglio first really shines through.

I’m 24 hours in to my new (67 plate) QV!

100 miles and no reliability so far !!!

I will report views after a week. A few immediate thoughts. I had a Alfa corporate loan car for a week and my new car feels far more refined on day to day N mode . That’s good. It feels a lot tighter, not as fast. It will have had an easier life I’m sure !

Had to do a very hard brake today and hazards came on automatically which was nice touch .

I had a FTyoe R previous and this is a very interesting comparison . Looking forward to some good driving days this weekend .
I am now 1300 miles in with only a only have one very minor snag, .....but loving it, and glad I chose it.
Anyone got any idea how to get the internal lights to come on when the doors are opened at night. So far I have avoided reading the manual but this one has me stumped???

Yes omitted the word none!

Think I’ve sorted town traffic stationary / creep issue. I just put in neutral , either using stick or pulling both paddles back and it’s straight forward low speed braking, feels totally normal and controllable . Ready to go, just put to drive
Interesting never tried that. At low speed breaks feel on or off and very difficult to drive smooth for passengers. So will give it a go.

SO made a trip to AHM today, great company with some cracking upgrades . Had the remote for exhaust done, within the hour and now the car is exactly what I want.

The only question I have is For £299+vat what quadrifoglio owner wouldn’t do it!?

Other upgrades they have are :.... lower springs without affecting ride (look much better) , carbon exhaust system (with stunning tail pipes) and 590bhp for only £600 . (Although not sure it’s needed)

1500 miles in and was really enjoying, but the addition of the remote I’m loving it. At low revs it sound like a growling tiger.

I got 37 on a run down to Bedfordshire last week (from Cheshire) - not hanging about, but in Eco on the Motorway. I also averaged around 30mpg during a 3 weeks, 3500mile road trip around Europe last summer, 3-up with a lot of luggage, and some spirited driving.

....that said, my usual consumption, mostly around town and short cross-country trips, struggles to break 20mpg!
Have a 250mile Round trip yesterday and got 31mpg. I now wonder if it runs less efficient for the first 1000 miles . Not sure but nice to know I can get that if I need / want to.

Done 150 miles today and 17.1 mpg, it was a fun few hours!

Has it got 65 litre tank? Showing empty but able to fill up 57 litres ?

Need to do exhaust flap mod, not been able to have noise on request is frustrating, I drive dynamic most of time and Race on twisty stuff with bumpy mode on

Thank you
Do the AHM mod as quick as possible, you will not regret it . Speak to Greg, 01252 845717. It’s made every day driving fun.

Will you soon know of a car with a broken gearbox?
Likely you think ?

Invalid warranty too?
Only IMO, I think the gearbox would be fine , (unless I’ve missed a trick) there is no launch control, so first gear is relatively unimpressive. It’s only when you get in to second I all goes a bit mental. So assuming you have the automatic I think it would handle it fine.
However if AR found out you have done it, it would invalidate the warrantee without doubt.

And sorry to sound all sensible, but how much power do you need (I’ll await for the abuse lol) . If your not track daying the car, then the 510, can only just about be used in the daily basis !!

I'm no expert but that is a lot of torque.
Well someone needs to try it and let us know.......#notme

Is this a switchable feature ?

Yes that’s the beauty of it. The remote gives you access to all the noise in all the modes and you can turn off and on. It also has memory so it reverts to the last setting. In the off mode. The car works in the normal manner as factory. So if the remotes are removed from the car it would be difficult for AR to know it is even fitted. !!

Interesting .
So do ALFA not offer a similar system ?

Also are these upgrades not recorded within the ECU somewhere ?

I only ask as I know JZM Porsche can always detect a cars history
The exhaust mod I had, does not touch the ecu. It’s a physical box that goes in line. (No wires cut , plug and play) by pressing the remote it sends a single to open the exhaust. In the same way as it does when going to race mode.

As for the increase in power this is a ecu mod/ upgrade , and can be put back to standard by them. Not sure if it’s traceable, as not having it I did go in to the detail I did with the exhaust mod .

Been meaning to write an update for a few weeks and this last round of warrantee questions is my prompt.

I’m now nearly 5000 miles in and the car has hardly missed a beat! Had service front splitter warning light on 2 occasions, a few week ago but obviously reset and apart from that, and sometimes the turbo not kicking when I expect it to (think that’s my driving style and not an issue) it’s just fun fun fun.

Exhaust flaps are open 99% of the time, ( definitely urge you to do this upgrade) . I have had a great response from drivers on the road and in petrol stations. ( can’t imagine an M3/4 driver would have a van driver winding down the windows and saying how beautiful your car is, and telling you to boot it so he can hear the exhaust )

All my mates I have taken out and allowed to drive it, are blown away by it and absolutely love it. These a real petrol heads with porkers, RS4/6 , C63 etc. They all say the qv is the best and (feel ) fastest car they have driven. It’s the rawness that does it.

My advice to anyone considering the quadrifoglio...... just do it, you won’t regret it!!

Personally I love the corsa tyre but will be putting on winters as it’s my daily.

Totally agree amazing car and buy it if you can.

We have a few weeks of hot weather so I'll keep my Corsas on and then will switch to Goodyear SuperSport, which I hope will be okay in low temps and won't need to get full winter shoes.
I also hear a lot of positivity around mps4,. So was wondering about them for the winter instead. Just can’t make up my mind. Any input of owners having run one through the winter would be much appreciated

MPS4S (not MPS4) would work fine in all but the worst of our winter weathers, far better than the Corsas. Certainly had no issues with the Michelins myself.
Thanks for info, do you run the mps4s in the summer as well? Was you impressed with the Corsa’s in the dry warm ish weather ?

I ran Corsas for the whole of 2017 and up to June of 2018 when the track finally melted them off. They are great on the road, in the warmer weather. Get them cold and wet and they are sketchy. Get them very cold and wet and they can get near dangerous. I'm on my second set of MPS4S now and they are 99% as good in the dry, 100x better in the wet and drivable in the cold and wet. They are far more durable too and some owners are seeing 30k+ miles range. They don't melt on track either, which was the problem I had with the Corsas. There's also a new Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport coming out in August which I know some owners have already had delivered from abroad so that's another option looking forward. Can't rate the Michelins highly enough though
.

Great info , thanks
