Relay theft.
How most cars are nicked, nothing exclusive to Alfa.
Indeed, looks like it's not the theft method that is exclusive to Giulias and Stelivios frown

Which if you want to remediate you can head here.

Hijacking the thread …

Can you fit 2 bikes in the boot of a Stelvio (rear sits down of course) without removing any wheel?

Thanks
A pair of Bromptons? Easy.

29" wheel MTB not so much

I've only done the latter once, but I had to take a wheel off and there wouldn't have been room for two

Thanks for the info.
Not many cars seems to be able to fit 2 bikes anymore..

Might have to start looking at bike racks, was hoping for the easy option..

FWIW I've always carried my bikes on the roof, wheel out, secured by front fork. Very stable at high speed. However, switching from saloon/estate to VW Tiguan getting the bikes on the roof became a right pain.

So, started carrying one bike in the car, both wheels in, but it was a faff and two a bit of a nightmare with high risk of scratch/damage.

Tiguan came with an electric drop down tow bar, so I bought a used Thule tow ball mounted rack, £75. It's been brilliant, I should have bought one years ago. So easy and quick to load up, and the rack is off in a couple of minutes when not needed. I wouldn't even think of putting the bike in the Car now.

Lots of manufacturers have same issues. Loads of Lexus (Lexii???) being nicked too...

Thanks, in my current V60 I can fit an adult bike and a 10 year old bike in the boot, wheels in and still have space for a couple of soft bags on the side.
Bike racks seems to be a fuff as the ‘bikes days out’ only tend to be 30min cycling and the rest playing football or at the playground.
Although all of the cars I’m interested in, don’t seem to accommodate bikes in the boot
