This years £999 Challenge is June 29th so I need to get a wriggle on and the shake down PPC RWYB day at Santa Pod is in March. So I need to get as much done as possible between now and then.

..and thanks to a stomach bug, I didn't get anything else done in 2011 and because I had time off work I can't afford petrol and have been cycling to work in all weathers. Too fecked to work on anything when I get home. rolleyes

For the first time in ages I opened the bonnet of the Guff Racer, fitted a set of new spark plugs, replaced the battery terminal and she started two seconds after I turned the key. smile

The bike carb' idea is shelved (again) for now as I need the car M.O.T'd for the £999 Challenge and it wouldn't work to well with the cat'.

Here are the bits for sale if anyine would like them...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bike-carb-conversion-kit...

...as the advert says I'm looking into doing a turbo conversion, but I'm also looking for an Alfa 156 V6 to see if the 190 or so bhp engine will sit in the Cinquecento bay.

So the carb's sold. frown

Gone to a good home and will be making a Saxo, aller vite!

Today I was crawling about uner the car again. This time fitting the handbrake cables. Due to the extra lengh I needed a one inch spacer on the driver side end of the cable and an half inch spacer on the passenger side. Also because the Cinquecento cable double backs on itself one of the original holes needed to be made 1mm wider.

Sorry no photo's dead laptop and my my desktop hasn't got blue-tooth.

Sadly not. Budget issues put an end to that. :-(

That was the black one at thr start of thr thread you'll see it in the YouTube clip.

The Fiat cost me £75 for a wing bumper, headlight and paint. The Merc' SL was a write off.

It's the German glass making it impossible to small cars. That's why I replaced thr glass in my BMW with Polycarbonate. ;-)

My engine bay space and damage issues will come to an end tomorrow.

I'm picking up a Panda!

I haven't decided weather to finish the Cinquecento or use the brakes and bits on the Panda.

Not with me (the external ones are further back in the thread), it looks like the car has been jacked with the drivers foot-well, with obvious front valance and drivers side inner wing and the tca's being way off to get the car to go in a straight line I think the foot-well damage may be related to the collision damage. frown

You can get a V8 in a Panda engine bay so I don't mind swapping bits over.

The mighty Rover 213S is for sale...

...to pay for this.

Get it all plumbed into the Guff racer before transferring it over to the Panda after a bit of fettling.

Or maybe sell the stripped out Cinquecento turbo with Punto GT brakes and stuff to raise funds to do something different with the Panda.

No; but I'm going to weld the bloody roof shut this time. wink

This does mean the return of my racing colours as well.

That's better. hehe

Turns out the Seicento could be a quick fix. If that's the case I'll sell it and use the money to get the Panda or original Guff finished. smile

The Seicento was delivered while I was at work today and first impressions are favorable. The engine turns over without making any tapping noises so I'm willing to bet the valves are safe. The drivers side light doesn't work, rear wiper is dead, there's a crack in the the bumper and dent in the tailgate where I'd guess the car has reversed into a post at some point.

Quick turn around it is then. wink
