No idea what it is, and that rather steroidal x1/9 is rather cool.

Abarths really do stick two fingers up to those who think only good noises come from 6+ cylinders , such awesome noise.

Although the Maserati 200si take the prize for best 4cylinder sound

Just amazing.

Yeah that's an Abarth x1/9, possibly a replica, I think they only made five originals. There seem to be quite a few replicas floating around. There are three really good ones down here in NZ. All with fairly hot Lancia 2l twincams in, one 16v. I was lucky enough to have. Ride in one around the local track, never saw a thing, when he was accelerating all I saw was the roof as my head snapped back, then the floor when it snapped forward under braking. Best thing I've ever ridden in by far.

Realised that my pics from Auto Italia Brooklands this year haven't appeared here before.

It was also 2 days before i left for my Mille Miglia trip so concentrated on those.

The distance involved.

Drive the length of Italy to get down to Sicily.

Just a bit too far for 2 days of spectating.

That is so close to where i stay i am tempted to go back again but i have so much other stuff

i want to do.

I have a big wad of Swedish money that never got used in 2012 and want to at least spend

some of it rather than return it to the bureau de change.

You know I love you really Jack, and your exhaust...um hang on that sounds a little strange...

What are you talking about the 8c is for the shopping the 33 is for the proper driving... wink

Are Abarth still doing the Punto rally? Looks like it from the picture, would be great to see abarth in the wrc for 14.

I always thought abarth Should have done a R26.R job on the punto, stir up some more 'brand awareness' for Abarth.

Ill make a vid some time of my exhaust doing loud and quiet mode. When i can be bothered.

The 8c is for reving at about 6000rpm, you can't do that in Chelsea!

They may still use it for Italian rally events but the Abarth Punto production has finished, so very unlikely to see any WRC action.

Yeh was so much potential for the Abarth Punto, it came with a bigger turbo and brakes than the 500 version, making it more tuneable. Unfortunately, for what ever reason they never did it. Maybe its because nobody ever bought one in the first place. I think money was the major problem for Fiat.

Yeah the Italian car market is meant to be very much in trouble according to what I've read, I know the s2000 was still used, just noticed the race spec punto in your picture, and there have been rumours about that Abarth might bring the punto back as the spec to WRC current specs isn't to different, fingers crossed.

I didn't realise the Abarth punto supersport was getting 180hp as standard, why don't they use that mapping in the 500? As you've said the Punto never really caught on, so it wouldn't be hurting the puntos sales.
