Rock and hard place today. I can either do bodywork or drive to Milton Keynes. rolleyes

Before I start I thought I'd try this again...

...I think orange bumpers will be a little too much.

After all that I didn't get much done today...

...apart from most of the paint. My nephew helped out as well. I showed how to mix the paint, spray and what to look out for. He was happy enough so I went to put the kettle on. Came back and he'd let the gun creep close to the body, made some terrible runs, panicked and went over them several times making them worse.

Just as well the £999 Challenge isn't a concourse event eh? wink

The orange stripe was inspired by the FrankenFiat engine's target 100hp. Old Panda with a new stripe. I like it at least. The blue paint had been stored too long and clumps of dark blue pigment came out of the gun as well as the runs it's probably the worst paint job I've ever done. Brilliant! smile

I have a pretty short shopping list now...
Engine.
Windscreen.
Headlights (the drivers side broke on the way out).
Bottom ball joints.
Polycarbonate for the rear windows.
Tyres.

...and the list of jobs is getting there...

Brakes.
Engine.
Suspension.
Rear windows.
M.O.T stuff.

Those stripes don't say ABARTH.
They say "PANDA" because the car hasn't been anywhere near the Abarth factory. It would be like putting a John Cooper badge on a BMW One series.

Did a spot of office work today?

Does anyone know of a legal reason as to why the fuel cell and battery can't take the place of passenger ballast?

Being close to the middle of the car should mean the fuel is less effected by G-forces. wink

Either put a swirl pot into the system, or don't run low on fuel if racing. The fuel pump outlet from the tank is on the left side in my car, the tank is lateral across the car, and long left handers with only 1/3 of a tank left cause fuel starvation without baffles in the tank, as all the fuel ends up on the right hand side of the tank!

Are you building it to MSA regs? If so, I don't think that would be legal.

Just ask yourself, do you really want a source of flammable liquid & a source of ignition so close both to one another & to yourself?
