The Alfa Romeo 4C lease thread

Agree. I think if you were used to a Porsche Cayman S, one of these with race pack and akrapovik exhaust could be a bit of a shock. They just don't seem to be selling though so I would have thought there would be a reluctance to build new ones for such a cheap lease price as the market is already saturated.
In regard to the 50th Anniversary cars I assume these have been priced low to shift them as aren't they 2016 cars that have been hanging around in a compound somewhere? They were built to mark 50 years from the original Spider in 1966 so in theory they were all built last year. So, the reason for the cheap deals is to get rid of the last few they are probably finding it difficult to shift them. Its the same deal I went for prior to all the recent deals that appeared. Its the right spec car at about the right price, they also gave me a decent part exchange for my Brera V6. Their price is comparable if not better than the deals for the in stock coupes that Thames/Mangolesti are advertising.
Variava is also local to me (I'm in Derby) I've had cars from them before and can highly recommend them. Picking mine up on Saturday #27 in Red.
Had the same issue with the finance - Unity had still left it open from several months ago!
The best insurance quote for me although I didn't shop around very much was with LV (12k miles inc business use, full no claims protected, 3 points, parked on drive, age 36 = £5-600 depending on excess/legal cover etc.).

Thanks for that. I saw your post yesterday lunchtime and rang them. They had a Rosso Competizione and a Madreperla car left so I signed up for the Rosso.
Had a slight hitch with the finance as I had an existing application open with Thames so had to ring them and get that cancelled before they could proceed with it at Chris Variava.
Got the call back today, left a deposit and was sent the paperwork. Should have an idea of lead time soon.
£399.95 on a 10+23 with 5k pa. Somewhat more expensive than the prices some folks on here are paying for the same spec cars but I figured it was worth the extra. Plus the dealer is in Nottingham so a lot closer to travel from Leeds.

I spoke with the area head of Alfa up here in Scotland about these deals this afternoon, he said there is on 50 cars in the country going to dealers that includes the ones in transit from Italy, he said there is absolutely no way a dealer can do those deals as they stand to loose substantially on every car..? He also said Alfa will not be accepting any orders on vehicles outwith the current available stock.....very interesting could be another leasegate?
I hope someone proves him wrong Will be interesting to see the number of cars which complete and the headline figures and for those who do well done!

I guess the mistake I made was comparing it to the quote from Thames but they didn't have any anniversary cars left in the end. How many miles did you go for and how much did it cost?Variava is also local to me (I'm in Derby) I've had cars from them before and can highly recommend them. Picking mine up on Saturday #27 in Red.

Had a chat with Paul today after he took the deposit and turns out he's the registrar for the owners club and knows his onions when it comes to the 4C. I discussed the front plate issue and it turns out they don't fit the unsightly holder. Instead they supply a small plate for the grill and leave the full size plate in the boot. Looking forward to hearing your review on the car once you have collected it.

I'm finding that getting return phone calls from Variava / Thames is challenging.
All ready to go, just a question of finding a car!
Give Chris Variava a call tomorrow and ask to speak to Matthew Manners. He's the person I dealt with but he was out of the office today so Paul Jones called to confirm everything and take the deposit. All ready to go, just a question of finding a car!

Well I have a order from sat in front of me which states the reg and the vin number. Tomorrow I should have a lead time of when I can collect the car. Will need to run some fresh insurance quotes and shop around as I've not advertised my Evo yet and my ncb is on that policy. Also need to get round to advertising the Evo.I hope someone proves him wrong Will be interesting to see the number of cars which complete and the headline figures and for those who do well done!
I've already told a few mates that the deal is done and I no reason to believe that it will fall through. I spoke with Peter at Thames Alfa about the deal last week and he assured me that they had triple checked everything with head office to avoid a repeat of the Unity fiasco.
Chris Variava seemingly had the deal advertised before Thames and other sites so I think it's kosher.

I did a quick insurance quote on one of the comparison Web sites and found AA for about £590-£690 depending on excess.
TH White original deal on a white spider non anniversary was very good about 17.6% of otr.

Yes I had to let the 50th anniversary deal go at Chris Variava, but would definitely recommend them, both Matt & Paul were very helpful. As above. Peter has checked up the entire Alfa chain to ensure the deal is legitimate.
I think I need to stop reading this thread now and just try and forget about it haha.
There are a lot more dealers involve in these latest deals than just last Unity fiasco, so hopefully all will be honoured.I think I need to stop reading this thread now and just try and forget about it haha.

Asked for Matt/Paul but they weren't available. One of the other chaps offered to deal with the enquiry and seemed v helpful initially. But then seemed to avoid calls later in the day so don't know where things stand. Would just be nice to have a direct/honest process - all feels a bit smoke and mirrors to be honest. Hopefully I'm just being paranoid and all will be resolved tomorrow. Edited by Kananga on Thursday 15th June 22:12
I went for 12k, which I'm kind of regretting now as its £478 per month on 10+23 and I will still end up needing another car as well (I do around 15k normally, should have gone for 8 or 10k as I reckon I won't be so keen to use the spider in the winter). I guess I was put off by the 30p/mile excess mileage. Had to shell out about £1k to end current company car lease deal early so all in all working out quite expensive.
Like others have said after driving the Unity car and then being disappointed haven't stopped thinking about it and scouring the for sale ads since.

Why PM for figures? Everyone else is being open with how much they are paying.
Spoke with Matthew at Chris Variava this morning. Official lead time is two weeks from the date of ordering so looks like I'll be collecting it at the start of July. Waiting on the full spec to be emailed to me but from what I've seen elsewhere it has pretty much every option bar the akrapovic exhaust.

Coupe in stock to collect, worth checking if it exists or sold already https://www.contracthireandleasing.com/main-dealer...
£8,806.20 total
9+23 8k Miles p/a
£2,835.40 initial payment
£259.60 Per Month, INC VAT
Please take it, so I can't take it. It's very tempting but I have no space to keep it.
