4C - Where are we with prices right now?
Discussion
Hi guys, looks like there is 24 for sale tomorrow all by the vendor Leasy at Colchester Mannheim - they are all June 2017 cars, lowest being 1k miles highes t 17k - mixture of coupes and spiders.
What do we think this level of new cars to the market will do? Have a stimulcast account so will note what they sell at.

I think the expected outcome is that none of them sell. If you go back a few pages, I think you'll see this isn't the first time they've been up for sale in that kind of volume. What do we think this level of new cars to the market will do? Have a stimulcast account so will note what they sell at.
My old car's (FM17JWN) been going in and out of auction since early May and still not sold, I can only see the reserve's having to be slashed to move this amount of what is a v specialised car. The market for these is very small so demand just isn't there even at low prices me thinks. They made 50 Anniversary cars, probably 20 or more sat at the factory for a year until this cheap lease deal finally cleared them all.
I can see these depressing prices for some time to come and Leasys catching a cold trying to shift them.

That would be great, really interested to see where the prices on these are. ThanksWhat do we think this level of new cars to the market will do? Have a stimulcast account so will note what they sell at.
Not looking to sell mine any time soon but I'm hoping that:
a) this won't affect the coupe prices as much since these are almost all 50th anniv spiders
b) there may be a temporary dip in the market due to over supply but people will snap these up cheaply and the prices will stabilise again probably just slightly under where they are now
... hoping

I’m happy like all of us owners if they keep their value. Personally I’m planning on hanging onto mine because I absolutely love it and what on earth would you replace it with? There is nothing comparable on the market with the same style and performance. I’ve just swapped my 18/19 dark 10 spoke alloys for the Alfa black diamond wheels -17/18. I prefer the looks and the handling seems even better. I will be selling the wheels together with a set of Pirelli tyres that have done 3500 if anyone is interested.

Thanks for sharing. Actually surprised 3 have sold at all but perhaps the reserve is eroding each time they come back to the auction. No way of knowing the selling price is there? You can I think see that on BCA.
It may well be that none have sold. There was a recent post somewhere about Leasys offering them for very short term rental.Love the way some are advertised as 50th anniversary cars but dealers, when they clearly are not as missing all the anniversary bits.
I only see two genuine anniversary car on autotrader one £42.5k with 17k miles... the other £48k with 2k miles!
Advertised prices do seem to have 'strengthened' over the last month or so... certainly the spiders are around 5k+ higher than when I was looking 2 months back!

Spider prices dropping back to where they ought to be. Supply seems to come in peaks and troughs (via auctions and private trade ins) and retail prices vary considerably depending on levels of supply with almost immediate correlation. Does suggest there's still a very small used market / lacking a bit of confidence

I suspect the impending end of summer is also impacting demand.BlackPorker said:

Car market overall seems to in a bit of a decline, current politictical/economic climate isn't helping I suspect.. I've been keeping an eye on QF prices - a few months ago you'd be lucky to see anything below £40k, they're down to £35k already. Even the rock-solid Evora market seems to be on the slide.MattyB_ said:

Sorry to hijack but I’m curious about the Evora. Haven’t tracked prices but were residuals fairly strong until recently ? I’m tempted to test drive one!Gassing Station | Alfa Romeo, Fiat & Lancia | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
