It's no good, must have it back.

Yes but the wife is already in mourning about its going (the JTD SW) and I suspect I will be as well. Its bloody quick and especially so as a diesel.
I had an Alfa 75 TS LE 7 years ago and sold it for all the wrong reasons, that was a stunning car, never let me down and would shut down 3 series upto 323s with no problem. Probably one of the most balanced cars I've ever owned.
The JTD is not quite as balanced in the sense of having a chunky 5 pot up front but the relentless torque makes up for it. Amazingly quick 50-70 & 70-err slightly more. Not a lot can stay with it. Would like to see how it fares against the TR7 one day!

Amen to preferring a 2.0 TS over a 2.5 V6. Just sold the 2.5 (admittedly in a 166) - my 156 2.0 TS is much more fun and just as lively. Neither has much torque at low revs. However the 2.0 can return decent mpg if you can curb your enthusiasm (difficult). The 2.5 just slurps jungle juice however you drive.
At least, that's my experience, FWIW.
