Discussion
Hi all.
im a true alfa man through and through.
i gave my brother my 1.6 boxer 145 when i bought my new 156.
i am going to attend track days and was looking for a quick little car.
my old alfa is far too slow which is a shame as im about to take it back off him and would like to take it round
is there any engine tuning which i can do to improve its bhp. the car only had 103 bhp when new. a long time ago!!

The boxer engine can produce good power. It can be taken to 2 litres and in race trim with steel crank etc can produce over 200 bhp. The guy to speek to is Aidie Hawkins of AHmotorsport..

Unless you can manage serious power increase, perhaps you would be better off losing weight? In the car I mean, not getting personal Must be plenty of kilos of door motors, rear seats etc that can go.

Have a look at the ARCA forum (Alfa Romeo Championship Assoc, I think!). There Forum may have some tips, or you can ask very knowledgeable people who race the things. BTW, there a couple of race prepared 33's available for no money at all on fleabay at the moment. They will already be stripped out and stiffened etc, and would probably be more cost effective than developing your own.
