My new Giulietta Cloverleaf

Picked it up about 2 weeks ago now and absolutley love it. its my 4th Alfa and follows a 1.6 147, 147 GTA & a MiTo Cloverleaf Picked it up on the way to a trackday at Llandow with some maserati's, alfa's and a few lotus's. Its's a great car and i've got a few plans for it to make it even better

Thanks its great to drive and i love it. i can't see what people don't like about them tbh. it handles rally well for a standard car it goes pretty well too. put it on a dyno today and its 238bhp so need to start working on that, got a few mods lined up for it which should hopefully start next week
the long term plan is upgrade the brakes (fluid and hoses to start with as the pads and discs are ok for now ) custom remap, air filter, exhaust, possible hybrid turbo, KW suspension (V2's probably), wheel spacers and maybe some different wheels as im not 100% sure on the standard QV alloys its got on it already. Been speaking with an Alfa specialist in watford who are very good about the work i have planned.
All that depends on time/money though but i intend to keep the car for a while, been swapping about too much in the past couple of years so need to keep this 1 longer

I love the 8C style wheels, i was looking at the Brera S or 159 Ti's to be a bit difrent too.
It will be a bit of a project which will all depend on time/money but i don't have a set time i want it done in, just be good to get it exactly how i want it

I have so far resisted the temptation to fiddle with my Giulietta but I am tempted to modify the induction, exhaust and dampers because I would like a nicer noise, a little more power and the damping is a bit soft for my taste, especially when compared to my Brera.

I was going to leave this car standard (and my last 1) but i couldn't resist and once i started looking at stuff i thought i might do a few bits to it

Thanks it was down slightly at the time (looks lower than it was in the photo) but its been topped up to where it should be now PS: Is your coolant a little low?

i know what you mean, with the standard car its like they nearly got it right but then didn't quite get it there, not sure what they missed though. 1 thing they should have done better where the seats (in the Qv at least, the seats in the my 147 GTA were great) Thats 1 reason why im doing stuff to mine, hopefully when im done it will be exactly how i want it to be.Not *hot hatch* enough ... Im not 100% sure on what power it could achieve from the map and hybrid turbo, tbh i haven't really asked them as its just an idea at the moment and is something that needs looking into before starting work on it but the people doing the work are very good and experienced in tuning cars and if/when the time comes i know they wouldn't do anything without being sure it would work or not Anything they are doing to it at the moment is being dyno tested aswell to see what each 'upgrade' is doing and if it works or if it has the opposite effect.

its ready i was on my way home from work and just passing when i got a photo off of fred with the torque figures off the dyno printout so i had to drop in and have a look. to say im happy with what they have done is a massive understatment and the exhaust looks and sounds great. fred spent a whole day with it on the dyno and the results are well worth it. i will put some more photo's up over the next couple of days and also the dyno printouts. i haven't driven it yet as i was in my work stuff and it was dark and chucking it down with rain but i can't wait to pick it up tomorow. apparently people from around the industrial estate they are on were going in to see what was on the dyno thinking it would be a high powered skyline or something like that and were surprised to see an Alfa itomorow can't come quick enough now and i can't thank chrs and fredd enough forthe time and effort they have put into my car over the last couple of days
on the trackday it was averaging 10.2 but i wouldn't say that was a good place to measure from . day to day driving its anything from high 20's (usually about 28-29 mpg) but on the way down to wales or on the motorway i did see it up at around 38-39 mpg. depends how its being driven really. when you push it though it can drop to about 22-23. the way it handles though for a standard car is great, in standard form this is the best handling car i've owned. a lot of people don't like the Giulieta for some reason, a lot of people say its not a real alfa or its too modern or its no V6 etc but if they were to drive 1 im sure they would be surprised

i picked mine up this morning and its a completly difrent car. big thanks to Chris & Fred for what they have done and the results are very impressive. i can post the dyno graphs on here if anyne is interested but it came out at 301.7 bhp & 338.6 ft-lb there is more to get from it but intake temps were getting high so Fred cut it back to keep it running safely etc. an FMIC &/or WMI will be a big help but for now its more than enough
I wasn't too keen on the metallic red either but after seeing it in the sun it looks great. It changes colour quite a bit and can go from looking like a brown sort of red (burgundy i suppose) to a bright candy red im saving up now for a Quaiffe diff, it will help a lot but the drivetrain should be able to cope with the power as it is.
I went from a 147 GTA to a MiTo QV and even though the MiTo was great fun it was just that bit small. i don't usually have people in the car but occasionaly i did and it was a bit of a squeeze in the back. The Giulietta is a perfect size car for what i need. Not too big but not too small either and the boot is pretty big too so comes in handy if i ever need to lug any big stuff around

Thanks, it is a bit difrent to what it was when i dropped it off i haven't had time to drive it since picking it up on saturday, been too busy going to the Ace cafe italian car night in it tomorow though nothing to do with the mods as it as a standard car at the time ( i picked it up on the way to the trackday) butnheres a short video of my Giulietta at a trackday round Llandow in wales

Can I ask what work did you do to achieve the power gains? Does the car feel quicker? I'm interested in upgrading our exhaust as it is quite muted at the moment and wouldn't be against doing a bit more work.
Sorry for the late replies, i had it set so i would get notifications when topics were posted on but for some reason ive missed them until now . A while before i sold it i had the power taken back a bit, only to 280BHP but it made a big difference to how it felt to drive. It actually felt quicker as you could use all the power instead of having to be gentle putting your foot down and have the traction control kicking in. Can I ask what work did you do to achieve the power gains? Does the car feel quicker? I'm interested in upgrading our exhaust as it is quite muted at the moment and wouldn't be against doing a bit more work.
I love the 8C red to get the power it was a full turbo back exhaust with sports cat (built at ProAlfa in watford) ProAlfa air intake upgrade and a custom remap by ProAlfa aswell. Its all tested before and after on the rolling road in the unit next door to them so you can see what your car is doing and that its running correctly too. I cant recomend them enough and i still use them if my RS needs anything. I wasn't really planning on changing my GQV but things changed and i had the chance to buy a car that i have wanted since i 1st saw a photo of it so i went for it. I still miss my GQV and wish i could've kept that aswell but i havent got the space or money for 2 cars
Just remembered 1 other thing that i did do to it, had a bigger intercooler put on the front. Went for gold so it would stand out a bit. It was remapped again after this was fitted but just by bolting that on it felt a lot better to drive and you could notice a difference. It brought the intake temps down a lot
