Alfa Sele-speed - Anyone tried one? ANY GOOD??

Anyone driven the sele-speed?
Thinking baout buying one, need to know if it can be used as a normal auto?

ie you just put it in 'drive' and it does it itself?

also any common faults on the sele-speed box to look out for on this car I've been offered?
