Back in 1996 I imported the first Lancia Ypsilon into the UK and have driven it around ever since. I went for luxury in those days and opted for the 1.4 12v LX which was nippy but fairly softly sprung and gave acceptable handling which was comfortable but not sporting.

Anyway, I decided to upgrade the suspension setup to Elephantino Rosso spec including springs, dampers, wheels and tyres. The transformation is nothing short of amazing and the handling is now razor sharp.
The wheels and tyres (195/50/15) look superb and have added the aggressive stance the car cried out for.

If you haven't driven a "Y" and are looking for something a bit different then you should give this little Lancia serious consideration. They are cheap to run, are very well built and appointed and great to drive especially in "Elephantino" spec.

Of course the new Ypsilon is another departure on the theme and is also a great car but the previous generation car still deserves your attention.

I'll be posting some pictures shortly and thanks to the boys at John Whalley Ltd for doing such a great job fitting all the new parts.

Cheers
