Hi Guys

I've just got a set of 17" cup alloys with ET55 front and ET70 rear, tyre sizes 205-50 + 255-40. Will i need spacers for these or will they fit straight onto my 944 S2 Cabriolet?

Cheers

The Rears with the ET70 will require spacers of approx 15mm to bring the offset back to ET55.

The fronts should be ET52 I think but 3mm is really negligeble.

Please check the widths are correct tho' F = 7" or 7.5" R= 8.5" or 9"

I know they have 7" ET55 stamped on the front and 9" ET70 on the back, i think they are replica wheels as there is no porsche stamp code on them. i just wasn't sure what spacers would be required. how nuch would these be and where abouts can they be bought?

Would've thought you could do worse than trying Demon Tweeks?!

Davie, use this excellent website to enter your current wheel width and offset compared with the new. This will tell you the amounts that the inner and outer edges will move. I don't believe its as simple as a 15mm spacer as your new 9" rear wheel is wider than your standard 8" S2 wheel.

I currently have a 944 Turbo SE 1989 and a 944 S2 1992 both with 17" x 9" ET55 fitted to the rears without spacers and no fouling. The spacers are as you know to correct the change in offset and therefore track width. You are correct in being cautious with the increased inner width but mine seem to work fine.

If you do need spacers try

www.jasmine-motorsport.co.uk/
www.porscheshop.co.uk/
www.design911.co.uk/
www.type-911.co.uk/

With ET70 the inner edge of the wheels will be closer to the shocks than Allans ET55
