I am tempted to buy a really good example of a 968 Club Sport just for track days. What I really fancy is a white Club Sport with the red decals and wheels.

Where should I look and what should I pay for a good one.

My head says "don't". My heart says "do"

If your buying a car JUST for trackdays, why not buy something that will be faster, cheaper & that you won't be so worried about bending.........

See my profile....

Just a thought......never been passed by a Porsche (YET)

nah - went through the Porsche/ Caterfield dilemna myself.

Chose a 968 as you can't drive a Caterfield to European circuits comfortably (or even circuits in this country!).

true 968 is more expensive to run although go LHD and save money

Only thing I would suggest is forget the colour and concentrate on finding one with the M030 handling/suspension option.

What they said +

Why not a 944 turbo ?

Fit the 968 M030 ARB's, tickle the ECU and boost

300bhp, cheaper, faster, lighter, prettier

All IMHO

Good point,

That's why I have a Tow car & Trailer, also helps if you have a moment........

I did however drive my previoud Westfield to UK trackdays & plan to do Spa & Nurburgring in my Sprint car next year....HARDCORE.....

I thought about doing them in the 944 but i think it would feel tooooo slow by comparison & I don't think the standard breaks would be up to it.

i always thought the late 944 turbo was heavier than a 968CS?

tho with 300bhp and suspension and brake mods youre unlikely to notice it

Probably a very nice car, but not a Sport - The Sport was produced for the UK RHD market only in '94 and '95 and was essentially a CS with a few of the creature comforts put back in.

There is no such thing as a LHD sport. Sport was a UK only spec. There are a couple of LHD coupes about at the moment masquerading as sports.

I have to agree with Cuneus (such a sensible fellow) and I'm not biased at all

From an early 90's car mag the CS is 1335kg, the Turbo is 1350. Unbolt the Turbos rear seat back (which is 16 kilos) and voila 1334 kilos

That diver944 bloke he's so nice but forget to mention that the electric seats weigh 25 kilo's each

Replace with Cobra's (or similar for £300) at 6 kilos each, well you can do the maths . . . . . .

alot of sites/magazines show the late 944T at 1400kg and the earlier car at 1350, everywhere shows the 968CS at 1335kg tho

prettier? why do alot of 944's come with cup mirrors, 968 door handles and wheels then?, ive never seen a 944 bodykit for a 968

be happy with your boost and let us have those points at least

Yes I have to yield to Coupeman re the wheels, mirrors, and door handles (and if pressed the bridge spoiler also)

My dads got a 1994 white 968 CS with the red decals. He may be selling it in about 6 month time.

Let me know when your dad is ready to sell... has it got the M030 pack?

Not sure on the pack. The old man has just retired, company Jag has gone, so he's using the 968 a little more now, whilst he decides what he wants to do, car wise. I'll be sure to post an ad on PH come the time.
