I have a 993 Twin Turbo with Factory Upgrade 430BHP engine.
In the 996 X50 Upgrade I believe they change the Turbos from KKK 16's to KKK 24's.
Is that the case with my car or is it still on 16's??

Think they are still K16's on the factory 430, though could be wrong.

There is lots of talk on Renn List in the 993 TT forum regards K16 and K24 and the hybrids of the two and the relative merits of each set-up. Is very interesting, though I may be a !

Edited to say: just noticed you post there yourself so the above is pretty useless!

I think the 430 upgrade is nothing much more than new ecu (which probably means not much more than a boost increase) and an extra oil cooler...

from a previous post, the mods are a modified exhaust system, a remapped ECU providing higher boost (1.9 instead of 1.75 bar abs) and an additional oil cooler.

Same turbos though.

I recently saw a torque curve up against the stock car for a 450 Bhp upgrade 993 TT vs a stock one- and the 450 Bhp one had less low speed torque but higher power and higher peak torque- This started me wondering whether the 450 Bhp upgrade uses larger Turbos, as there is no reason you would intentionally map it to have low torque on the same octane of fuel.

I didn't think the 430 or 450 kits from Porsche changed the exhaust other than perhaps the tips in the 450 bhp kit.

And I think the 450 bhp kits uses K24 turbos; hence a bit less low-end torque/response in exchange for high end power.

For an example of what's in each of the kits see www.carnewal-europe.com/cpx_p93028.htm and www.carnewal-europe.com/cpx_p93029.htm

The chap that I bought mine from gave it a £10k Porsche power upgrade to 450 bhp - I have the Porsche certificate that accompanied it back from Hamburg stating 331 kW (444 bhp?) and 300 km/h. I don't know the totality of what was done to acheive this, but it has a non-standard 4 outlet exhaust that he said was fitted as part of the upgrade. Also has the front oil cooler, but that's no surprise.

Goes like stink, but you don't need me to tell you that!

Edited to add that I've got no idea what turbos it's got, was just responding to the comment about exhaust systems..
