Hello, i was wondering if the standard 911 teardrop mirrors would fit straight onto a 1991 944 S2 Cab. the look of the teardrops are far better than the standard mirrors but i wasn't sure on the fitment of them? anyone have any ideas on the fitment?

The 968 mirrors are a direct replacement mate. They will give you that teardrop look.

If it's anything like my 928 mirrors I had replaced a while ago, the actual tear drop mirror housing is common with the 911, but the stalk is unique to the 944/968, due to the differing curvature of the flanks of the cars.

Lots of 944 owners have replaced their elephant ear mirrors with teardrops.

For hints/tips/how to do it, join the 944 forum http://titanic.co.uk follow the Porsche - 944 links.

Or maybe Paul (diver944) can also help.

Pete (still got elephant ear mirrors)

Nah, I've got elephant ears too I use them for air brakes.

Try all the scrappies and Ebay before getting new ones. As mentioned, the important bit is to get the 944/968 base. OPC's sell the whole lot as an unpainted kit for around GBP 300 as do places like Design911, Porscheshop etc
