anyone put lighter panels on to their car?or removed parts to make their car lighter thus better performance?so far ive removed the obvious spare wheel;jack, toolbox.just wondering if its a good idea to remove the air con equipment and replace the glass roof with a solid one.has anyone noticed a difference in performance afterwards.any help much appreciated.

How much do you want to spend? You can replace most of the panels with carbon composite ones - that will save you a massive amount of weight - only trouble is it will cost you a small fortune. Naturally, weight savings will help performance, but if your going to make any big changes you should change the springs and dampers etc.....

Some examples:
Air-con weights about 40kg....
Doors and tailgate are very heavy - 100kg+ combined....
The standard exhaust is about 25kg....
Lightweight wheel - about 2kg per corner....

to be honest - unless you're completely crazy (like me) then you should enjoy the standard performance and spend your green on something else.....
