Looks like (Autosport this week) British GT/F3 will not race at the MSV circuits next year. Don't know the details yet - just pillaged the news from Ten Tenths - but if it is true then no Oulton, no Snet and no Brands.

Is this a bit worrying?

MSV under Jonathan Palmer have done a great job since taking over the circuits. JP knows how to give good value for money and will turn Brands into the world class circuit it is. Those of you that have been to the Bedford Autodrome, will know how MSV operate. If there is no GT or F3; then there may be a good reason. However it will be a shame.

SRO (i.e Stephane Ratel) are unwilling to pay the circuit hire costs. Which seems slightly ridiculous, given that I've just got home from a 750 MC event at Oulton. If they can afford to hire the circuit, surely the F3 and GT teams can

I imagine the spat is caused by SRO saying 'we bring xx,000 number of spectators so we're not paying the same hire fee as a meeting which brings x00'.

This all comes back to the disconnect between the circuit owners, the race organisers, the gate money, hire fees and responsibility for promoting the races.

Has anyone asked the question whether the 750MC gets charges the same amount as the F3/GT organisers do?

Just a thought.

I gather the whole thing is still up in the air so we might see GTs on the GP track and brands next year after all.

According to the item on DSC about this, every club pays the same: £18,000 for Brands, £9,000 for Snetterton and £14,500 for Oulton. Apart from the BTCC, which gets them free, and F3/GT, which this year paid just £2,400 for circuit hire. All JP has done is charged them full rate for next year. As I said, if the 750MC can afford it, so can SRO

Blimey. I'd love to know why my entry fee is £400 + VAT then. With just 5 other Tuscans we could have the whole cicuit for the whole day....

I know the SRO is a profit making organisation but.......
