I was at the factory a couple of weeks ago during the shut-down period around the Golden Jubilee celebrations. There were a few Type 25's sitting complete at the end of the production line. It is absolutely the most striking paint scheme of any of the rainbow of choices that were there or parked out back. I want one bad even though I know they'll all be long gone before I an Elise makes it over the Atlantic. Please hurry and bring the Elise to the US. (just try to remember that not all Americans want soft suspension, electric gizmos, and automatic trannies)

This colour scheme looks vile! Just because an old Lotus racer had these stripes doesn't mean you can slap it on a road car and think the punter will lose all sense of taste. I've seen more striking colour contrasts in a 5 year olds crayola drawings!

C'mon Adeewuff, tell us what you really think, don't sit on the fence!

Personally I like the retro look, it's a distinctive colour scheme, and it's a tribute to Lotus' successful past.

Viz top tip: Park your Lotus Racing Green Elise in front of one of those machines that puts yellow lines on the road, wait for machine operator to pass over you and drive away with in your new Elise 25.

It's about time Lotus rejoined some serious motorsport. Forget one make series, let's see a factory sponsored GT car.

I would think that Proton would have them clear up that tiny little deficit they have run up first. However, I agree whole heartedly. I would like to see some sort of lotus GT or GTR running with factory sponsorship...

Here is my Lotus Type 69, inspired by an trippy illusion once seen by Colin Chapman it melts the mind and the eyes of the passing onlookers and driver alike.

Looking over the sweeping front we can see that Lotus have taken inspiration from Colin's first ever race car, his Soapbox called 'Bugs'. Also as a tribute to Jessica rabbit long, carbon fibre eye lashes finish off the headlights to complete the look.

Lotus will only 10 of these fine designs and is asking you the punter for only £5000 more! Alternatively, simply reply to Adeewuff and he will pop over with his Halford paints to do the job for a fiver.

HR Owen in St Albans have one on the forecourt, and it's hideous. Particularly when parked next to a black one with black wheels...

Opinion is divided on this by the looks of it - saw a few of the heritage models at the factory the other week - the type 25 to my eyes looks fantastic.

The JPS model (sorry type 72) with gold wheels and yellow seats looks a bit cheesy to me and the S2 version of the type 49 with the red/cream and gold stripe looks - well awful. The S1 version looked a little better but not much.

Wholeheartedly agree, I would like to see them release the V8 Elise as a production car then I believe it can be entered as a GT2 and IMHO would win. At the moment they have to modify the car so much that it becomes a GT1 and it stands no chance agianst the might of Mercedes, Proche, Lister etc. with V12's

Still prefer my S1 111S 79 to the S2 72, the gold is more toned down, especially the interior.
