Lambretta resto - won start? Help please :)
Discussion
Hi, I'm on Spain with my girlfriend visiting her parents. Last time I was here I ripped her old lambretta to bits and started restoring it, I've rebuilt the engine and this now I've got it in the bike, all wired up and no joy. I get the occasional puff of smoke out the exhaust but won't start.
I've replaced the gaskets, piston rings, coil & spark plug. I'm getting a good strong spark. I have good compression so I can only think it might be te fuel/air mixture. I had to modify the carb manifold to take a modern carb because te lambretta carb was totally goosed. Don't know what carb is on it but it had a 24mm bore, that's all I know. U want pics? Might new adjusted but I can't even get it to fire up by spraying fuel in the spark plug hole!
Also, I can't get the flywheel off to adjust the points as I don't have a puller here and none of my diy attempts have worked. Could be the issue.
