If the Typhoon persists and we do not get a Japanese GP this year, what race should ITV show in its place?

(I am assuming they will show something Motor sport related, not just something silly and non-Motorsport related) what would uyou want to watch?

I'd like the 1993 Euorpean GP at Donnington, or a race with Mansell in it Spain 1987?

Actually a GP in a typhoon would be rather entertaining

How about a 2 hour show , showing all the best overtaking in years gone by? Just so we can remember what it was once like .

It's on I gather...

But if it wasn't - Hungary 1989. Mansell wins fro Ferrari from 12th on the grid (on that dust bowl go-kart track!!!). He took the lead off Senna in an opportunist move that boxed Senna in behind Stefan Johansons Onyx. I was dancing round the living room.

Monaco 1982 - 5 different leaders on the last 5 laps
Austria 1982 - Rosberg hunts down De Angelis
Silverstone 1969 - Stewart and Rindt in ding dong battle
Silverstone 1987 - Mansell chases down Piquet
Monza 1967 - slipstreaming battle with really close finnish (half a car)
Monza 1969 - five cars cross line at end in bunch
Monza 1971 - as for 1969
Hungary 1997 - Hill almost scores Arrows only F1 one
Belgium 1998 - too many incidents to mention
Silverstone 1973 - multi-car pile up, Peterson sublime.
Brands Hatch 1985 - Mansell wins first race, Rosberg gets own back on Senna
Paul Ricard 1987 - dress rehearsal for the race at Silverstone
Dijon 1979 - Arnoux and Villeneuve wheel bang all the way to the finish
Long Beach 1983 - Watson wins from way down the grid
Fuji 1976 - Andretti wins in gloom. Hunt wins championship
Brands Hatch 1976 - mass riot averted. Hail of Foster cans on track.

I'm sure there's more.

They said today that qualifying would take place in the morning practice session (so probably about 3am Uk time...). If this is too wet and must be abandoned, the grid positions will be awarded by ballot.

Imagine the arguments...

Of course, if the weather is still too bad I cannot imagine them starting the race, hence my original question
