Just been trying to get a couple of P Zeros for the front of the car and nobody seems to have any. More to the point Pirelli have NONE in stock and say they have NO IDEA when they will be able to supply. What a way to run a business!

As a matter of interest - what would anybody suggest as a substitute for PZ Direzionale N2 205/50/ZR17? And would it be unwise to have a different manufacturer from the rear which are P Zero Assimetricos?

I could get Rosso but I'm told they are asymmetric. When the car was delivered it had asymmetrics on the front and they tend to make a noise once they wear down a bit. The directional tyres are much better in that respect.

I had the same problem getting Conti-Sport N2 255/40/17. My local tyre fitter had some in stock but everywhere else was telling me they wouldn't be able to get any until December.

My advice - ring around, hopefully someone will have them in stock.

Have you tried Bracknell Tyre and Battery, or Micheldever Tyres?

How about mytyres.co.uk?

From what i understand, if you have to mismatch brand then you are advised to stay with the N rating, so if you have N2 rears then get N2 fronts.

IMHO: P Zero Rosso lost wet grip when half worn, and wore v. quickly. Conti Sportcontact N2 seem to last a bit longer and wear a bit better, and don't lose wet performance until about 2.5mm tread left. Just my £0.02

I had a pair of PZero Rossos fitted yesterday by these guys:

www.eventmobiletyres.com

They did a great job, price was good and they come to you!

Thanks for the input guys - I managed to source a couple at www.tyre4u.com. At least I hope I have, they had to go looking and say hope to deliver Friday. They were very helpful so fingers crossed.

Black Circles say P Zero Direzionale N2 is obsolete and won't be made again. Anybody know different?

I have an old Christophorus article on the various approved tyres and wondered if anybody had access to anything more recent, preferably available on the web?

FWIW, and in case anybody else is likely to be looking for the same tyres in the near future, I have been categorically advised by one distributor that Pirelli started making them again on the 14th of this month. So much for the 'obsolete comment' from Black Circles.

First shipments in a week or so will go to the back orders apparently, but supply should ease. Wouldn't hold my breath though.

Manek, thanks for the comment but Rosso is an asymmetric tyre I'm told, which is not what I wanted.

Tyre4U called up this evening to say they should be delivered to me tomorrow - not bad service at all.

How much are the Rosso's, above? Prices from the various suppliers would help.

Going to need some soon.

Thanks, Al.
