Those of you with the stamina to still follow F1 ( and those who have given up ) might want to see what the A1 racing series cars are gonna look like.

As some of you will know, this is a winter series which kicks off next year.

All the cars are the same - including the same V8 engines.

Each car will race in the colours of its sponsor nation, with a driver from that nation on board.

This is the UK entry - no announcement yet who will be the driver.

Its a fine looking beast:

Well the series has been picked up by Sky, so its guaranteed live telly coverage. And the series is travelling the world.

Question is, do we want to see a "name" in the seat or would we rather see young unknowns having a go...

If someone like Ralph Firman or suchlike can't get a good seat in CART in the US then I can see them going for this. They'd get plenty of profile.

Perhaps someone like Guy Smith?

Or a newbie we don't know?

Why isn't the British entry green then?

It's currently in the French national racing colours.

I believe Firman was involved in the testing program for the prototype.

sounds good, so any more info available? ie what countries are competing (and who is paying for it? surely not the govt) and where will they be racing? hopefully its worldwide and not euro-centric.

Absolutly, althougb I'd love to see him in Sportscars next year. Especially after his race at Silverstone in the 1000Km race, I hope Audi, Zytek or similar has picked him up for next year. He deserves a break
