Range Rover Gearbox
Discussion
Hi guys, we have a V8 Range Rover 4.4 that's done 85000. Its started to judder very slightly when on a very small or static throttle usually 25 to 35 mph and occasionally makes a little moan like noise. I'm worried it may be the start of some gearbox issues. Any thoughts and suggestions most welcome. Anyone had experience of reconditioned converters and boxes (life expectancy, good suppliers or indeed bad ones etc) All help appreciated.
Sounds like the torque converter is on the way out, having just been through this with my Disco 3.
If no warranty available (mine was covered by Warrant Direct) then there is a product called Dr. Tranny Instant Shudder Fixx, some people have reported good results from this.
Getting the box mega-flushed will help, but will only delay the inevitable.

This just had the same myself gearbox out new or recon torque converter replace coast me about £400 did it myself. Well documented on fulfat forum. Personally wouldn't bother with fixes it's the clutch in the TC breaking up leave it to long and it will contaminate the gearbox. If no warranty available (mine was covered by Warrant Direct) then there is a product called Dr. Tranny Instant Shudder Fixx, some people have reported good results from this.
